Objective:To study the risk factors and TCM types of retinal vein occlusion (RVO).Methods: Using retrospective method, we group the hospitalized cases whose eyes had been diagnosed of retinal vein occlusion during the past four years in the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. We classify those cases whose one eye has been diagnosed as RVO, while the fellow eye had no abnormal changes as unilateral group; those cases whose one eye has been diagnosed as RVO, while the fellow eye had some preclinical changes as preclinical group; those cases whose both eyes were diagnosed as RVO as bilateral group. Collect the patient’s general situations (gender, age), ocular and systemic disease (including hypertension, hyperlipidemia, coronary heart disease, cerebral insufficiency, cerebral infarction, glaucoma etc.), the information of fundus fluorescence angiography (FFA), the experimental chamber test results (including blood, liver and kidney function, blood clotting, blood rheology) and TCM syndrome types. Through statistics and analyse the risk factors, then compare the risk factors in two groups, and see whether has some difference in the statistics. By statistical the TCM syndrome types, observing whether there is some law of RVO syndromes types. Results: RVO may be associated with some systemic diseases and ocular diseases; RVO patients have a high rate of abnormal lipid six checks、blood clotting、 blood examination and platelet counts; TCM type composition ratio has significant differences in the three groups. Conclusion:Hypertension and hyperlipidemia are important risk factors of RVO, and the statistical analysis of the results between the two groups was statistically significant; dyslipidemia is an important risk factor of RVO;the low shear rate of the whole blood viscosity increased and the activated partial thromboplastin time increased may be risk factors of RVO; TCM type composition ratio has significant differences in the three groups and the statistics results has Statistically significant difference.
