Objective:By using the systemic review, the author evaluate how well of the abdominal acupuncture treatment works for the simple obesity. We employed meta-analysis of published clinical reports to determine the efficacy of abdominal acupuncture for treatment of simple obesity. Our analysis examined all of the available data published from January,2005 to December,2014 which reported the effects of BMI changing to abdominal acupuncture on simple obesity. The goal of this study was to investigate the scientific evidence for efficacy of abdominal acupuncture treatment for simple obesity. Methods:Comprehensive research published data for abdominal acupuncture treatment for simple obesity, included randomized controlled trials, quasi-randomized controlled experiment to appear in all articles. According to the rules of Cochrane website, using two methods to research the usable data. Either of the internet searching method or documentary reading method. Internet search: CBMdisk(2000.1-2014.12);VIP(2000.1-2014.12);CNKI(2000.1-2014.12);Wang-Fang (2000.1-2014.12);PubMed (2000.1-2014.12); Embase(2000.1-2014.12); Cochrane Library (2014,ISSue2)et. Document selection by two reviewers independently performed, in case of disagreement both sides through consultation, if the opinion is still unable to reach agreement will give to authoritative third party to choose. Using Cochrane Evaluation Handbook 5.2 recommended "bias risk assessment" tools to evaluate the quality of articles then analyze the data by Review Manager 5.2 software. The researches mainly use OR (Odd Ratio) for dichotomous variable and its 95% CI (confidence intervals); and MD (mean difference) for continuous variable and its 95% CI. P<0.05 means the study has statistically signification. Use GRADEpro 3.6 to value the grade of articles. Results:A total of 5 articles are included in this research, has RCTs 2, Q-RCTs 3. Patients included are 304.The article quality evaluated is 4 B, and 1 C. The results from GRADEpro 3.6 for all articles are "very low". Meta-analysis:(1) BMI(Body Mass Index):abdominal acupuncture is better than other treat methods (MD=1.52, 95%CI [0.05,2.29]), abdominal acupuncture compare to normal acupuncture has no statistically signification (MD=3.98,95%CI[2.69,5.27]); abdominal acupuncture is better than fake acupuncture treatment (MD=2.01,95%CI [0.75,3.27]); (2) Waist-To-Hip Ratio:abdominal acupuncture compare to normal acupuncture has no statistically signification (MD=0.01,95%CI [-0.01,0.03]); (3) Waist Index:abdominal acupuncture compare to normal acupuncture has no statistically signification (MD=-0.13,95%CI [-1.35,1.09]); (4)Weight:abdominal acupuncture compare to normal acupuncture has no statistically signification (MD=1.13,95%CI [-2.57,4.83]); (5) Waist-Height Index:abdominal acupuncture is better than medicine tretment(MD=3.42,95%CI[1.57,5.17]), abdominal acupuncture compare to fake acupuncture is better (MD=3.68,95%CI[1.14,6.22]); (6)total effective rate:abdominal acupuncture is better than other treatments (MD=2.43,95%CI[1.12,5.28]).Conclusion:This research concentrates on the study of abdominal acupuncture treatment for simple obesity articles. By using this scientific method of systemic review, the author researched the BMI changing for abdominal acupuncture, and uses the results to compare the effect of abdominal acupuncture and other treatment methods. Because of the previous study of abdominal acupuncture therapy is less, the usable data found only 5, so the data is limited. Therefore, the conclusion of this paper may be not exactly right. People who are reading and using this study should be treated with caution. However, from this study the result is not difficult to see that, abdominal acupuncture compared to other treatments, abdominal acupuncture can effectively control the weight, the effect time is longer, and the side effect is not so obvious. So the author suggests that the medical community to research more about abdominal acupuncture therapy to treat simple obesity, to exploring the effectiveness of this method. When we have adequate data, should be more strictly research.
