Along with the economic development and the improvement of living standards, obesity has become a modern society, the most common nutritional disorders. It is the high risk factors of cardio-cerebral vascular diseases, increase the incidence of type2diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipemia, fatty liver disease and cancer, enemy of human health and longevity. In cities in China, the incidence of obesity has around10%~15%, and has increased year by year and younger trend, with the rapid increase in the incidence of obesity, obesity-related diseases are also in an increasing trend. Therefore, the study on the treatment of obesity is currently the focus of attention. At present, there are many weight loss methods; various weight-loss methods have certain suitable crowds. However, in recent years, the reports about the side effects of using drugs in weight loss appears repeatedly, it reflected a lot of problems encountered in the treatment of obesity. Because of the unique therapeutic effect and very few side effects of acupuncture to weight loss, its getting more and more people’s attention, especially the increasing popular of abdominal acupuncture therapy in recent20years, and can be achieved in certain clinical effect, its development prospect is considerable. However, in the study of various therapies for treatment of simple obesity, mostly is about single therapy research, the comparisons among various therapy is less, there is no precise laboratory observations, go against simple obesity acupuncture treatment of the optimization scheme to explore and research. This subject is based on a large number of ancient books and literature research, intended to develop a comparative study among Bo’s abdomen needle and conventional acupuncture on the treatment of Simple Obesity, find out a better therapy for the treatment of Simple Obesity, to provide a more effective and scientific basis for future clinical treatment and research.1. ObjectiveObserve Bo’s abdomen needle treatment on overweight and obesity through comparing the weight, BMI, waistline, hip circumference, waist hip ratio, and SCL90rating scale changes before and after treatment,, in order to provide reference for the optimum solution for acupuncture weight loss.2, MethodsRandomly divide61cases of obesity patients into group A and group B. Group A is treated with Bo’s abdomen needle treatment, while group B is treated with conventional acupuncture treatment. Bo’s abdomen needle group use "attracting qi back to yuan"(take air-entraining in wan, rou GUI, gas sea, under close yuan), abdomen four close (double lateral spreads meat door, outside ling), add bilateral days atlas, large horizontal the acupuncture point; Choose HaoZhen1.5inches one-time no.34, avoid pore and blood vessels. The needling operation is gentle and slow, generally USES only turning without thrusting or light turning and slow thrusting, in order to avoid injury on visceral organs. Needles remain inserted for30min. Conventional acupuncture group selects QuChi, Tianshu, Zhongwan, Yinling springs, FengLong, Taichong, and with additional selection of acupuncture point based on physical condition of the patient:for spleen deficiency and moisture resistance add sp6, Yin ling springs; Stomach heat and moisture resistance add Yinling springs, main, Quchi; Liver qi stagnation add Yanglingquan, close valley; Spleen and kidney Yang deficiency add too creek; Yin deficiency add st36, close with internal into the valley, the three Yin; Choose301.5inches HaoZhen rapid pierce subcutaneous, conduct turning and thrusting manipulation until tingling, numbing, swelling or heavy sensation is felt. Needle remains for30min, every10min conduct needle manipulation once. Acupuncture treatment is done2times per week,4weeks for a cycle of treatment. After continuous treatment of2treatment cycles related assessment and records are done. Two groups of patients are both measured for height and weight, before and after the treatment to calculate the corresponding BMI. Clinical efficacy is based on standard formulated by the fifth obesity research academic meeting held in Beijing in1997. Definition of clinically cured:body-mass index dropped to below26, with associated symptoms disappeared; Clinically significantly effective:body-mass index dropmore than or equal to4, with associated symptoms disappeared basically; Clinically effective:body mass index drop less than4but greater than or equal to2, with related symptoms easing; Invalid:body mass index drop less than2, with no obvious relief of related symptoms.Based on above standard the clinical effectiveness distribution for each group is obtained. In addition, the corresponding waistline, hip circumference, waist hip ratio, SCL90rating scale changes for both groups are measured and compared before and after treatment. All data processing are done with SPSS13.0statistical software. Measuring data using mean+standard deviation (x+s) to express. Two sample comparison done with independent sample t-test. Self contrast done with matching t test before and after contrast; Orderly classification (Jone with rank and inspection data.3. Results(1) The distribution of two groups’curative effect displayed that there were43cases recovery,4cases with special effect,17cases effective and4cases invalid in BoShi abdomen needle group; Conventional acupuncture group had6patients healed,3patients with special effect,18patients were effective and5patients invalid. By independent sample nonparametric-test it displayed that two groups had non-significance difference (Z=-0.032, P=0.974).(2) Compared with before treatment, two groups in weight, BMI, waist circumference and waist-hip ratio aspect had different decline after treatment (BoShi abdomen needle group compare t=weight9.100, P=0.000; BMI comparison t=11.562, P=0.000; comparative t=waistlines14.958, P=0.000; waist-hip ratio comparative t=12.059, P=0.000. Conventional acupuncture group compared11.867t=weight, P=0.000; BMI comparison t=12.19, P=0.000; comparative t=waistlines9.524, P=0.000; waist-hip ratio comparative t=8.041, P=0.000), and two groups had no statistically significant in weight and BMI changes by covariance analysis was (weight change F=0.424, P=0.518; BMI change F=0.035, P=0.852); But in the waistline and waist-hip ratio change, BoShi abdomen needle had significant higher waist change than conventional acupuncture group (F=6.650, P=0.012; waist-hip ratio change F=7.871, P=0.007).(3) Statistics showed that the SCL90total grades of two groups before treatment were both greater than160points, more than2points factor included depression, anxiety, interpersonal relationships and other items. After treatment, the two groups’factor points had different decline by matching t test (all P value=0.000), and between two groups the changes of factor points except depression were no statistically significant (by Coariance analysis, the total change of two groups F=2.986, p=0.089; depression,9.404changes F=p=0.003; anxiety changes F=1.021, p=0.316; interpersonal relationships change F=0.622, p=0.433; other changes F=0.478, p=0.492).4. Conclusion(1) Bo’s abdomen acupuncture is clinically effective for overweight and obesity. it has unique advantage over conventional acupuncture in reducing patients waistline and waist-hip ratio;(2) Simple obesity patients with varying degrees of mental disorders such as depression, anxiety, acupuncture weight loss treatment not only reduces weight, but is also significant in relieving the socio-psychological pressure of obesity patients.(3) Due to limited number of cases, this study cannot ensure multicenter, large sample research predictability. The mechanism of weight loss treatment using abdominal needle also needs to be further studied, experimental research especially need to be further developed and implemented.
