| Aim:The aim of the study was to observe the effect of Wudang "Gui-xing Gong" on respiratory functions and quality of life in patients with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), providing evidence for its popularization in clinical work.Methods:46 COPD patients were randomly divided into treating group (23 cases) and control group (23 cases). The control group makes no special treatment while the treating group received additional intervention of Wudang "Gui-xing gong". The exercise ability were evaluated by 6MWT.The clinical symptoms were evaluated by using mMRC and CCQ scale.The pulmonary functions were evaluated by using FEV1%,FEV1/FVC% and FVC%.The Comprehensive evaluation were evaluated by BODE index.The quality of life were evaluated by CAT scale.Results:1.After the study period,the 6MWD had significant differences in two group (p<0.05), and the treating group show great improvement on 6MWD (p<0.05),while the control group show some decrease on 6MWD (p<0.05).2.After the study period,the Clinical symptoms had significant differences in two group (p<0.05), and the effect of treating group was superior than that of control group (p<0.05).3.After the study period, the treating group show great improvement on FEV1% and FVC%(P<0.05), while there was no significant difference in control group before and after treatment (p>0.05).There were no significant differences in pulmonary functions index (FEV1%,FEV1/FVC%,and FVC%) between two group as compared with that after treatment(p>0.05).4.After the study period, the Comprehensive evaluation had been decreased significantly in treating group as compared with that before treatment (p<0.05),while there was no significant difference in control group before and after treatment (p>0.05). There were no significant differences in two group as compared with that after treatment (p>0.05).5.After the study period, the CAT scale score had significantly differences in two group as compared with that before treatment (p<0.05),and the CAT scale score decreased significantly in treating group as compared with that before treatment (p<0.05),while the control group show some increased on CAT scale score (p<0.05).Conclusions:l.The Wudang "Gui-xing gong" can improve COPD patients exercise ability,pulmonary function,comprehensive evaluation,and finally optimizing patients respiratory function.2.The Wudang "Gui-xing gong" can reduce COPD patients clinical syndrome and finally enjoy the quality of life.3.The Wudang "Gui-xing gong" is an effective traditional pulmonary rehabilitation method for COPD patients. |
