1 Background:The outcomes of pain management are the effects that the patients get through taking a series of measures and methods to reduce or eliminate the pain, which can be used to evaluate the quality of cancer pain management. Recalling studies of the outcomes found that pain intensity, The influence of pain on patients, satisfaction on pain management and belief on pain were often used for comprehensive evaluation of cancer pain management’ quality in foreign. The patients’outcomes of pain management is one of the important indicators to assess nursing quality on medical pain. The study aims to research and analyze pain management outcomes in cancer patients and may provide valuable theoretical evidence for nursing intervention.2 Objective:To describe the situation about the outcomes of cancer pain management of inpatients suffering from cancer in Jinan; explore the misunderstanding and factors affecting cancer patients and their relatives toward applied analgesic; discover the misunderstanding and factors affecting medical staff toward cancer pain treatment; conduct statistical analysis on cancer pain management and influential factors and provide scientific evidence for standardized pain management.3 Methods:600 inpatients were recruited from 3 hospitals in Jinan with random sampling method. The general demographic scale was adopted to collect the general demographic materials of inpatients; the pain management outcomes were measured by Patient Outcome Questionnaire Modified of American Pain Society; the factors affecting pain management outcomes were treated with self-designed survey on influential factors and general scale of patients’ conditions. The data was processed with SPSS software. The single-factor variance analysis and T test were adopted and multiple linear regression was used to select the factors affecting pain management outcomes.4 Results:4.1 The situation of pain management outcomes in inpatients suffering from cancer4.1.1 Pain intensityThe full score of pain intensity was 10. The mean score of the pain intensity within 24 hours of the study was 3.72±2.14; the current mean score of pain intensity was 3.42±2.49, which was between the moderate level and the mild level; the mean score of the worst pain intensity in last 24 hours was 5.61±2.74, which was in moderate level.4.1.2 The influence of pain on patientsThe full score of pain influence was 10. The mean score of pain influence on inpatients in the study was 3.70±2.6, between the moderate and the mild level.4.1.3 Patients’satisfaction on pain managementThe full score of patients’ satisfaction on pain management is 6. The score of patients’ satisfaction on pain treatment, nursing treatment and medical treatment were 4.44±1.01,4.75±0.95 and 4.67±0.80 respectively, which were relatively high.4.1.4 Patients’ belief on painThe full score of patients’ belief on pain was 5. The mean score of patients’belief on pain in the study was 2.46±1.82, which was in moderate level.4.2 The analysis on major influential factors affecting outcomes indicator of pain management in inpatients4.2.1 The influential factors of pain intensityThe education background and drugs application have significant statistical difference on the influence of current pain intensity(P<0.05); gender, time waiting for analgesic and pain intensity have significant statistical difference on the influence of the worst pain intensity within 24 hours(p<0.05); the days in hospital has positive correlation with the average pain intensity in last 24 hours(r=0.31, P=0.008).4.2.2 The influential factors on patients’ lifeThe education background and drugs application have significant statistical difference on the influence of patients’ life (P<0.05).4.2.3 The influential factors affecting pain management satisfactionThe pain relief intensity has positive correlation(r=0.41,P=0.001) with pain treatment outcomes, in other words, the more intensive of the pain relief, the more satisfying of the pain treatment.4.2.4 The influential factors affecting patients’belief on painThe education background、when the pain didn’t relieved whether to ask the other analgesics have significant statistical significance(P<0.05).5 ConclusionThe pain management outcomes indicator on cancer shall be further improved; the satisfaction on pain management shall be improved; the pain management outcomes are affected by many factors. The more scientific and effective prescription could be made only by inspecting each factor affecting the pain management outcomes and strengthening standardized pain intervention and management.
