Objective:1)To describe the current status of self-management of hypertension patientsin Urumqi;2)To explore the influential factors that affect the self-management.Methods:Convenint sampling was used to recruit a total of580hypertension patientsin outpatient department from two grade three general hospitals in Xinjiang Urumqi.The hypertension patients were investigated with the Summary of HypertensionSelf-Management Activities and a series of influential factors questionnaires,including Hypertension Knowledge Test, Illness-Cognitive questionnaire,Self-Efficiencyquestionaire,Self-rating Depression Scale and Social Support Questionnair.The ttest,analysis of variance,spearman correlation and stepwise internal consistency were usedto test the investigate results.Results:1)The level of the self-management of hypertensionpatients was at moderate leve.The scores were60.86±10.39for the total of theself-management,16.96±3.65for medication compliance,20.32±5.52for diet,12.29±3.30for daily activities,11.29±3.31for social psychology.2)Single factor analysis shows thatdifferent individuals basic information and disease related information in the managementof differences;the level of self-management with hypertension knowledge,diseaseawareness,self-efficiency,depression state and social support existence of relevance.3)Thevarious dimensions of the factors influencing are the level of efficiency, hypertensionknowledge, professional status, duration of disease, gender, disease perception, socialsupport, age, residence and depression by stepwise regression analysis Conclusions:Theoverall level of self-management of hypertension patients in Urumqi were in the middlelevel and affected by various factors.Therefore,we should provide the effectiveinterventions to improve their health and management according to their owncharacteristics,to control of the complications of emergence and development and toimprove the quality of life.
