Surveillance Analysis On Adverse Events Following Immunization In Kuancheng District Of Changchun From 2008 To 2014

Abstract/Summary:
Objective: To explore the characteristics of Adverse Events Following Immunization(AEFI) in the area of Kuancheng district from 2008 to 2014, and to provide scientific evidence for improving the quality of vaccination service, establishing standardized vaccination safety monitoring system, and developing public health strategies and measures.Methods: to collect and analysis the data from the suspected vaccination abnormal reaction information management system reported by Kuancheng District, Changchun City, report card and case data reported by the AEFI surveillance system, and the China National Immunization Program Monitoring and management system vaccination monitoring report and the annual rate to strengthen the immune / leak replant statements related to vaccination data from 2008 January 1 to 2014 December 31.Results: I. there were 544 cases of AEFI in the city of 2008~2014, of which 415 were 0~6 years old, accounted for 76.29% of the total number. Sex ratio of male and female within 3 years old was 1.24:1. II.For the reporting period, the number of cases reported in 2010 was at least, in 21 cases; the number of cases reported in 2014 was the largest, in 146 cases. The number of reports in the 2008~2010 was slightly reduced, and the number of cases reported in the 2010~2014 was increasing. In September, the number of reported cases was 59, accounting for 10.85% of the total number of cases; the number of reported cases in spring(January to March) was 23.71%, and the summer(April to June) accounted for 30.88%, and the autumn(July to September) accounted for 25.37%, and the winter(October to December) accounted for 20.04%. III.For reporting units, the community health service center reported 389 cases, accounting for 71.50% of the total number of cases, the disease prevention and control center(CDC) reported 89 cases, accounting for 16.36% of the total number of cases, 62 cases, accounting for 11.40% of the total number of cases, 4 cases of village clinics, accounting for 0.74% of the total number of cases. IV.NIP vaccine was 528 cases, accounting for 97.06% of the total number of cases, and non NIP vaccine was 16 cases, accounting for 2.94%. Nip in the vaccine, DPT vaccine has the greatest number of cases, 289 cases, accounting for 53.13% of the total number of cases; followed by meningitis vaccine, 56 cases, 10.29%; with the least number of measles, occurred in 12 cases, accounting for 2.21%. V.All of the suspected cases in the prevention of abnormal reaction occurred in the 1~4 dose, which occurred in the number of cases in the first cases, 270 cases, accounting for 49.63% of the total number of cases. VI. For clinical manifestations, 268 cases of AEFI performance, accounting for fever of 49.26% of the total number of cases; 165 cases showed local swelling, representing 30.33% of the total number of cases; 72 cases showed local induration, accounting for 13.24% of the total cases. VII. For the case, 16 people, 2.94% of the total number of cases, 528 cases, accounting for 97.06%, no deaths. VIII. For the cause of the abnormal reactions, general reaction 538 people, accounting for 98.90% of the total number of cases; abnormal reaction of 5 people, 0.92%; coupling reaction, accounted for 0.18%; there is no vaccine quality accident, accident of vaccine inoculation, psychogenic reaction and mass suspected abnormal reaction to vaccination. 88.78% of the cases occurred in the case of 48 h after vaccination to prevent the abnormal response of the suspected vaccination. IX. The timely report rate of 48 hours after the discovery of suspected vaccination abnormal reaction was 88.73%. In 2008, the report rate of 48 hours of suspected vaccination abnormal reaction rate was 95.78%, in 2009, the report rate was 96.15%; 71.43% in 2010; 94.12% in 2011; 97.03% in 2012, 99.22% in 2013 and 99.32% in 2014.Conclusion:(1) AEFI is a common occurrence in children under 3 years of age, male dominated; NIP vaccine and first doses of AEFI were easy to occur cases; AEFI cases in general reaction.(2) AEFI cases reported in the first year, the number of reported cases in summer and autumn, the number of reported cases in September, the number of cases reported in 2010~2014 were increased.(3) AEFI’s report is based on the community health service center.(4) AEFI maximum number of cases of diphtheria pertussis tetanus vaccine.(5) the main symptoms of AEFI cases were fever, redness, induration.(6) in the 48 hours after vaccination, the abnormal reaction of occurred in the case of suspected vaccination, and the rate of the reported rate of the patients in the 48 hours after the discovery showed a rising trend year by year from 2011 to 2014.
