Objective:To investigate the clinical treatment effect of selecting points along the course of the channel and the non-points for the PDS in the functional dyspepsia, further confirming the efficacy and specificity of meridians in PDS functional dyspepsia treatment. Methods:The total 68 cases were randomly divided into two groups, the acupointing along meridians (group A) and the non-acupointing (group B), 34 cases in each group. The points of Zusanli and Neiguan were chosen in the A group. According to the Deficiency and Excess pattern discrimination, we added the Taichong and Neiting points by tonifying method for the Excess pattern, we also chose the Gongsun and Yinlingquan points by reducing method for the Deficiency pattern. In the B group, we acupunctured the arears besides the above points 2cm and operated the tonifying and reducing methods based on the deficiency and excess pattern discrimination. We investigated the clinical treatment effect of the two groups and continued the six-month Follow-up visits.Results:(1) After 4 weeks of treatment, the total effective rate of group A was 82.35%, significantly better than group B.And the patients were followed up for 8 weeks,12 weeks,16 weeks,20 weeks,24 weeks, effective rate of group A was 85.29%,70.59%,79.41%,82.35%,76.47%, significantly better than the B group at the same time the efficiency (58.82%,44.12%, 47.06%,55.88%,47.06%), the difference was statistically significant.(2) Nepean Dyspepsia Index (NDI) of group B after treatment for 4 weeks,12 weeks,24 weeks were significantly improved compared with before being treated((P< 0.05), no improvement after treatment in group B (P> 0.05). After treatment, NDI score of two groups were significantly different (P< 0.05).(3) Patients of two groups had no adverse reaction during the treatment of acupuncture before and after treatment, blood pressure, body temperature, respiration showed no obvious abnormalities. Conclusion:Acupointing of selecting points along the course of the channel can significantly reduce NDI symptom score of the PDS in patients with functional dyspepsia, improving clinical symptoms, for example, early satiety, abdominal pain, belching patients, and it can improve the quality of life of patients,it is better than that of the non acupoint therapy. No significant adverse reactions present with acupuncture in the treatment of PDS type of functional dyspepsia, and it has lasting effect, so it is worthy of clinical promotion.
