Objective To detect the level of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D and explore the correlation in children with bronchial asthma. Methods: To measure serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D, calcium, phosphorus, alkaline phosphates, and collect the relevant clinical data including family history of asthma, asthma attack in the previous year, sun exposure, activity, history of eczema, detect pulmonary function parameters of FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC, MEF25, MEF50 in 50 children with asthma and 50 healthy children in Quanzhou Children’s hospital from February, 2014 to August, 2014 then process statistical analysis.Result: The mean level of 25-hydroxyvitamin D in children with asthma was 36.75±13.82 nmol/l, less than that in the healthy children(98.27±15.36)nmol/l(P<0.05). There was no significant differences in the level of serum calcium, phosphorus, alkaline phosphates(P>0.05). Single factor analysis showed that more children in the asthma group had family history of asthma, asthma attack in the previous year, less sun exposure, less activity, history of eczema and vitamin deficiency. The logistic regression equation showed asthma attack in the previous year and vitamin deficiency were signification(P<0.05). The mean level of 25-hydroxyvitamin D in children with asthma was not related to FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC, while related to MEF25, MEF50(P<0.05).Conclusion The level of vitamin D was lower in the children with asthma, Vitamin D deficiency maybe a risk factor for bronchial asthma, and was related to small airway parameter MEF25 and MEF50.
