Objective: To detect the levels of interleukin(IL)-25, eosinophils (EOS),Leukocyte(WBC),neutrophil(N)in peripheral blood of bronchial asthma patientsand pulmonary function, we study the relationship between the level of those factorsand pulmonary function to analyze the role of IL-25in clinical diagnosis providescientific basis for treatment of bronchial asthma. Methods: The blood samples and clinical data from the36asthma patients inacute attack period were collected. The data of the blood routine test was collected. And the serum levels of IL-25were detected by the method of ELISA. While theblood samples of30healthy non-asthmas people were also collected to study as acontrol group. All patients were taken pulmonary function tests to determine thelevel of FEV1,FEV1%pre,FEV1/FVC%,FEF50%pre,FEF75%pre,FEF25-75%preand Raw%pre. Correlation between the inflammatory factors such as IL-25andpulmonary function were analyzed as well. Results: First, the level of serum IL-25in asthma patients was significantlyhigher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Among the multiple comparisons ofsubgroup, the expression level of IL-25in severe and moderate groups weresignificantly higher than the mild group; second, in the acute asthmatic attackgroup, the expression level of IL-25played a down-regulation effects with the levelsof FEV1, FEV1%pre, FEV1/FVC%, FEF50%pre, FEF75%pre and FEF25-75%pre;third, the levels of IL-25in serum of asthma patients was positive correction with theexpression level of FEV1%pre. In contrast, the levels of IL-25in serum of asthmapatients have no correlation with white blood cell counts, neutrophil number andneutrophil percent. Conclusions: In the asthmatic group, the expression level of IL-25wassignificantly higher than the normal control group and increased based on thedecreasing of FEV1/FVC%, FEV1, FEV1%pre, FEF50%pre, FEF75%pre and FEF25-75%pre. The level IL-25as a sensitive parameter could reflect the big andsmall respiratory passage diseased changes.Similar with the level of IL-25, the levelof EOS played a negative correction with FEV1/FVC%, FEV1, FEV1%pre,FEF50%pre, FEF75%pre and FEF25-75%pre. We infer that the IL-25can playinflamed roles through inducing the congestion of EOS.
