A Study On Government Governance And Regulations On Private Medical Institution

With the rapid growth of economy and progress on medical reform, government open up medical market and encourage private operations. More and more private medical institutions emerge and grow fast, which brings an end to public medical sector monopoly. More competition will result in improvement of medical service and lower prices while better attitude, which boosts the development of medical sector. However, there are illegal operation and malpractice in the private sector due to the fact they are pursuing illegitimate profits and thus patients’ rights are violated and the market is distorted. How to regulate private medical institutions is an essential area for research.This article studies the current status of regulations on supervision private medical institutions from Licheng District government, Quanzhou and identifies the malpractice and wrongful doings in the private medical institutions and the reasons behind these phenomena by using theoretical and practical methods. In order to perfect supervision and regulation mechanism and ensure lawful operation of private medical institutions, the author has come up with some suggestions on policy changes as well as measures. Through qualitative research and case studies, data is collected and analyzed and interviews are conducted based on public management theories.
