Objective Our purpose was to explore the interrelation between expression of Fas, Pglycoprotein and Ki67 and to study the relationship between these expression levels and the multiple drug resistance of invasive breast cancer. Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of Fas, Pglycoprotein and Ki67 from 56 cases of primary invasive breast cancer and 25 cases of normal breast tissue, and analyzes their correlation with the multiple drug resistance of invasive breast cancer.Results(1)The rates of expression of Fas in the breast carcinoma tissues(48.2%) was lower than that in the normal breast tissue(89.2%), the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01).On the contrary, the rate of expression of P-gp in the breast carcinoma tissues(41.1%) were higher than those in the normal breast tissue(14.3%), the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05); the rate of expression of P-gp is 76.8% in the breast carcinoma tissues, and it has no positive expression in the normal breast tissue, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).(2)The expressions of Fas was correlated with tumor diameter、lymph nodes metastasis and tissue grading in the breast carcinoma tissues(P<0.05). The expressions of Ki67 was correlated with tissue grading、ER、PR and Cerb-B2(P<0.05). The expressions of P-gp had no correlation with the clinicopathological characteristics in the breast carcinoma tissues(P>0.05).(3)With the Spearman correlation analysis, there was marked negatively correlation between the expression of Fas and P-gp(r =-0.588, P <0.01),and there was also marked negatively correlation between the expression of Fas and Ki67(r =-0.401, P <0.01).Conclusion(1) The abnormalities of Fas-mediated apoptosis may be associated with breast cancer occurrence and development.(2) The expression Fas and Ki67 in invasive breast cancer was significantly negatively correlated, that the abnormal of Fas-mediated apoptosis is conducive to the proliferation of cancer cells;(3) The pathway of Fas mediated apoptotic in invasive breast cancer may be involved in the formation process of multi-drug resistance of tumor, and its formation mechanism sill needs further research.
