Research On Improving The System Of Licensed Pharmacists In China

As the basic medical service personnel of our country’s medication safety, licensed pharmacists are becoming more and more important in today’s background of health-care overhaul and they are attracting people’s attention. Licensed pharmacist system established only 20 years in China, the amount of pharmacists is merely around 20,000, well, this number is far from meeting the need of our country’s medication safety. What’s more, the strict process of getting the license and the pretty high professional demands make the amount of licensed pharmacist increased slowly. Along with the development of our country’s medical service,pharmacists at the moment are wake in professional qualities and skills so that they are not suit for progressing. Compared with foreign pharmacists,our pharmacists are uneven in knowledge. Our licensed pharmacist system is not mature. Therefore,our country’s medical field are calling for reform and improvement on the present system in order to provide more qualified pharmacists to our country’s civilians’ medical safety. First of all, this article discusses the goal and importance of the study on licensed pharmacist system. And then, it analyzes the present conditions of the structure of licensed pharmacist in China and other three countries America,Japan and Britain. Some fine comparison are did as well.Through comparative analysis we can find out that clearly that the licensed pharmacist system in America and Japan is more complete and mature than ours and there are many things we can learn. Further, we studied 11 main problems in the development of our country’s licensed pharmacist system:First,the deficiency of pharmacist industry’s legal status. Second, there’s no professional institution to manage licensed pharmacist. Third, It’s too lose on awarding licensed pharmacist qualification. Forth, the examination contents are out of the date and lack of innovation. Fifth, there’s no strict pharmacist internship regulation. Sixth, our country has not formed central and local coordination management mode. Seventh, further education is not enough. Eighth, self education is lack. Ninth, some of pharmacists lack of moral values. Tenth, the number of licensed pharmacist is not optimistic. Eleventh,Welfare benefits is lower than other jobs and get less attention.Finally,we propose some solutions on those 11 problems after analyzing the experiences of America, Japan and Britain. There are many innovations in this article. For example, researches on pharmacist system in America,Japan and Britain; comparative analysis between Chinese licensed pharmacist system and that of other countries. I put forward some new opinions and the solutions from a whole new viewpoint to make this system better. Of cause there are still some shortcomings.
