Ancient Literature Research About Taixi Clinical Application

Objective: To sum up the clinical application of Taixi in acupuncture in the ancient times by a statistical processing of ancient documents concerned in Qing dynasty and before.Methods: By using TCM philology and data mining method respectively, we establish a database of the indications of acupuncturing solely Taixi and by combining with other acupuncture points, as well as the method of combining the acupuncture points and the manipulation. IBM SPSS Statistics 19.0 is chosen as the statistical analysis software.Results: There are mainly 30 kinds of indications of acupuncturing solely Taixi,among them for 11 the treatment especially effective. There are mainly 31 kinds of syndromes that can be treated by puncturing Taixi combined with other acupuncture points, among them for 10 the treatment especially effective. The 10 most common used acupoints go with Taixi are Rangu、Kunlun、Dazhong、Shenmai、Zusanli、Zhongwan、Taichong、Sanyinjiao、Taibai、Weizhong. Acupuncture and moxibustion are the main treatment method.Conclusion: The research result gives a comprehensive picture of the application of Taixi in acupuncture in the ancient times thus can be used as a reference for modern clinical application and scientific research.
