With the decline of the birth rate, the prolonged expectancy of the human life and the social development, the ageing of population has become the inevitable trend. For the olderly people, their body function, cognitive and immune ability gradually decline, which, and psychological and social factors, make the elderly suffering from various diseases probably increase. The development of social economy and the improvement of the living conditions of residents, people’s health increase significantly. The elderly people pay more attention to the health care products. In 2013,The Chinese Health Association’s data showed that the health care products had been sold more than two hundred billion yuans in China, more than 50% of them were consumed by the elderly. The duty of community health center is to protect the residents’ health, The important community work is how to guide the elderly use the health care products correctly and participate in community health education activities actively in order to improve their health condition and life quality. Objective:Through researching the elderly status about their cognition and the use of medical health products in Kaifeng, the correlation between the health status of the elderly and their using health care products should be discussed, the key factors, about why the elderly participated in medical health care products sales and why they used the health care products, should be analyzed. Then a health plan for the olderly people should be made, and the scientific and humanized suggestions for community service should be provided. Method:1. Investigation: From 2014 April to September, two community health center in Kaifeng were invested, and the informants were the elders who were or more than 60 years old. The informants were selected by stratified random sampling method(stratified by age). The investigators issued the questionnaires on the spot and took back them after the elders finished. 300 questionnaires were sent out and all of them were recovered. The recovery rate was 100%, 276 of the questionnaires were valid, the effective rate was 92%.2. Analysis: To input the information into the Epidata3.0 data, and built the database with the spss19.0 Statistical Software. The statistical methods included the frequency analysis, the analysis of the constituent ratio, χ2- test, Trend χ2- test, Logistic regression analysis and so on. Content:The object of investigation was the elderly people. The content of investigation was consisted of the general situation of the elderly, the health status, the daily life, behavioral psychological state and the using health care products. Results:1. The demographic characteristics of the object: There were 115 male people accounted for 41.4%, and the 161 female accounted for 58.3%. The youngest was 60 years old, the oldest of them was 86 years old; The type of medical insurance included urban residents insurance for 87, the basic medical insurance for urban workers for 119 people, the new rural cooperative medical care for 46, commercial insurance for 10; The main source of income included social relief for 17, family for supply 72, pension and personal savings for 187 people.2. The old people’s life, health, psychological state. In daily life, there were 63.9% old people basically doing regular physical exercise; there were 27.7% old people liking salty food, which for a higher proportion; in daily living, 52.2% of the elderly lived with their spouses, fewer of them living alone; in the economic situation, the elderly were not satisfied with their income. in health wise, they thought their health were good, accounted the most proportion, about 35.5%; the number of the visiting hospital for the last half year, each option had been involved, and more average; in chronic illness condition, 67% of the elderly people suffered from the chronic diseases which were mainly about 8 kinds of chronic disease. In interpersonal relationships, and mental health, about 76% old people were satisfied with their life, in a high proportion; in negative emotions, almost 16.3% old people were not happy, which was in a little proportion; about the enthusiasm of the elderly to participate in health lecture activities, most of them had done it, accounted for 78.2%; about the elderly people to solve the problem, the proportion of seeking to help for community organizations was least, accounted for 11.6%.3. The status and consume of health care products in the elderly, and the health relevance. The old people knew not enough about for health care products, and the awareness rate was low, not more than half. In reality, the most important channel in which older people bought health care products was the marketing activities at the scene, about 32.3%, the most expected channels was from hospital, about 40.1%. The purchasing frequency of the elderly was up to 6 months, about 42.9%. The old people bought the health care products themselves, accounted to 47.7%. As to the effect of health care products, 44.1% of old people thought they were effective. The functional requirements that the elderly sought for health care products were more inclined to delay aging and improve immunity. Through investigating four indicators, health self assessment, half year frequency of visiting hospital, status of chronic illness and the type of illness, the correlation between them and the health were no statistical significant, P>0.05.4. The factors which influence the old people to use health care products. To analysis the data by statistical way, χ2- test, the factors that affecting the elderly to use health care products included: the degree of culture, annual income, regular physical exercise, diet principles, the satisfaction status of life, depression and fear negative emotions or not.5. The influence factors that the elderly participate in health care products promotion activities. Set the dependent variable y and the 6 independent variable x and the Logistic regression analysis was carried out, there were three variables came into the regression equation at last, which were the personal economic situation, Service, Others’ recommend. Conclusion:The elderly knew the health care products not too much; there was no correlation between the using health care products and the elderly health; the old people’s life, health, psychological status influence to use health care products; the old people were lack of scientific health guidance and care; the community health centre should subdivide the crowd and provide health guidance, and create a health cultural atmosphere.
