Objective: To probe into the influencing factors of postoperative fractures nonunion. Methods: From Feb 2013 to July 2014, 39 patients who suffered from the postoperative fractures nonunion were treated in Shandong University of TCM Affilliated Hospital Orthopaedics Patients’ Room. Three of therapeutic methods were adopted: 30 of which were treated by replacing internal fixation plus bone grafting. 7 of which were treated by reserving original fixity and using simple bone grafting. 2 of which were treated by the dynamic fixation and bone grafting instead of the intramedullary nail static fixation. Secondary postoperative treatment effectiveness was evaluated based on fractures bone union evaluation criteria. Results: 39 cases were all one-time cured, and all came to bone union. The time of complete bone union was from 3 months to 7 months(mean 3.8 months). The function of limb joint recovered well without any complications. Conclusion: Iatrogenic factors(the rough stripping, malreduction, improper selection of the internal fixation ways and materials, wound infection, bone defect without bone grafting, the mistakes and ambiguity of guidance after postoperative rehabilitation) and stress shielding is the main cause which leads to postoperative fractures nonunion. To stabilize fractures and bone grafting are the most effective way to cure fractures nonunion.
