Objective: Through the sorting and analysis to the literatures of Lieque(LU 7) acupoint before Qing dynasty, summing up the laws of clinical application.Methods: Using The Chinese Canon of Medicine as the main retrieve source to search the related literatures, to set up a series of databases such as treating diseases by single acupoint or combined with some acupoints, compatibility acupoints and the methods of acupuncture and moxibustion, then to analyze the statistics and data based on the IBM SPSS Statistics 19.0 software.Result: In 57 attending diseases treated by single acupoint, 12 kinds of dominant diseases were screened including the first three-malaria, cough and apoplexy. While in 78 attending diseases treated by compatibility therapy, 11 kinds of dominant diseases were screened among which the first three diseases were cough, toothache and headache. In the 160 acupoints of compatibility therapy, the top three ones were Hegu, Zhaohai, Zusanli respectively. And the top three acupoints were Bailao, Shixuan, Longyuan in the 12 extraordinary points. Acupuncture and moxibustion were the main techniques. The acupuncture depth was one third centimeter usually, the time was three breaths and moxa was changed three times.Conclusion: The application principle of Lieque(LU 7) acupoint has high reference value and guiding significance to both the modern clinical science and scientific research.
