Objective:Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)is main cause of death worldwide with high morbidity and mortality rates. By 2020, the economic burden casued by COPD will rank the fifth in the world. As a clinician, we should focus on the effects of the patients with COPD.Methods:In recent years, more attention has been paid to the complications of COPD due to their significant role in the progression and prognosis of COPD. In this study, we collected the clinical data of hospitalized patients with COPD from November 2013 to January 2015. The clinical features of each case we collected include gender, age, course of the disease, height, weight, smoking history, the expected of FEV1, the data of Inhaled albuterolthe(FEV1、FVC、FEV1/FVC、FEV1%pred), CRP and CAT. HAMA and HAMD standardized scale were performed for diagnosis of the anxiey and depression. We used chi square test and multi-factor Logistic regression to analyze the prevalence and the risk factors of anxiety and depression. Results:A total of 108 patients with COPD were enrolled, 70 males, 38 females 38, average age(65.55±5.15) years old. 53 COPD patients with anxiety(49.1%), 57 COPD patients with with depression(49.1%), 42 COPD patients with both anxiety and depression(49.1%), 40 cases(37.0%) free from anxiety and depression. The occurrence of anxietywas positively correlated with gender, age, course course of disease and CAT scores(P<0.05). Depression also associated with gender, age, course of the disease, the CAT scores and BMI, and was positively correlated with age, course of disease and CAT scores(P<0.05). Females were more likely to suffer both anxiety and depression. There is no significant correlation between FEV1% pred and anxiety and depression(P >0.05).The major performance of COPD patients with anxiety is anxious mood, the symptoms of respiratory system, cardiovascular system disease, insomnia, gastrointestinal symptoms and nervous. The major performance of COPD patients with depression is guilt, difficulty sleeping, somatic anxiety symptoms, depression, gastrointestinal symptoms and hypochondria.Conclusions:1. The incidence of anxiety and depression in COPD patients is quite high.Female patients are more likely to suffer both anxiety and depression.2.The occurrence of COPD patients with anxiety relates to gender, age, course of the disease and CAT scores, and is positively correlated with age, course of the disease and CAT scores, and is not significantly correlated with smoking history, CRP and FEV1%pred.3. The occurrence of COPD patients with depression relates to gender, age, course of the disease, CAT scores and BMI, and is positively correlated with age, course of the disease and CAT scores, and is not significantly correlated with smoking history, CRP and FEV1%pred.4.The major performance of COPD patients with anxiety is anxious mood, the symptoms of respiratory system, cardiovascular system disease, insomnia, gastrointestinal symptoms and nervous. The major performance of COPD patients with depression is guilt, difficulty sleeping, somatic anxiety symptoms, depression, gastrointestinal symptoms and hypochondria.
