As is known to all, treatment based on syndrome differentiation is the feature and advantage of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which is also the basic means of realizing individual treatment. Meanwhile, symptom is the mainstay of it. At present, precision medicine becomes the trend of realizing individual treatment which expectation is to build the system based on molecular typing. However, the lacking of microscopic mechanism research in TCM and the ignoring of modern medicine in clinical phenotypes are the major problems of the developing of individual treatment towards future medicine. In view of the present situation, it is essential to focus on the research of phenotype (mainly about symptom) and its micro mechanism which will help push on the process of TCM’s scientification and the research of translational medicine. In this way, we integrated the data from different medical databases and developed the PhenotypeGenotype web server in order to standard phenotypic terms and research the relationships of them. Besides, it provides a convenient way to display the integrated data and analysis results. We have completed the following three aspects of work.First of all, we integrated different data and built the relationships of phenotypes, diseases, genes, drugs, drug side effects and disease categories. The dataset of phenotypic terms was also built by the data we collected and became the most abundant dataset of phenotypes. It was formed by manual review and getting synonyms from different data sources, translating parts of them into Chinese to increase the amount of information and the reliability.Secondly, we developed the PhenotypeGenotype web server to display our data for users who devoted themselves to phenotypes. Meanwhile, we provided the function of relation data’s extraction, checking and confirmation; so that the relationships would be extracted from medical literatures, examined and verified by people, and displayed by website in which way the dataset would be updated and increased.At last, we did some researches to prove the accuracy of the data we integrated and get some conclusions about microscopic mechanism of symptoms, prediction of disease classification, influence factors of drug side effects which were probably used in clinical trials. The data mining process from data collection to decision support is achieving by module division, similarity calculation, enrichment analysis and statistical methods. We got phenotypic terms, phenotype-disease relationships and phenotype-genotype relationships by integrating data from different sources which were helpful in discovering the micro mechanism of symptoms. It is also helpful for the TCM’s scientification and the research of translational medicine. The prediction of disease classification will help people take a new look at diseases. The research of influence factors of drug side effects will highlight the importance of individual treatment and precise medical. People who use our web server will visibly save lots of time in data processing and will feel its strength.
