Constipation is one of the common diseases in pediatrics, and more than90%of the children constipation is functional constipation. Children suffering a lot from constipation, such as anorexia, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, anal fissure, hematochezia, rectal prolapse, etc. and constipation even have become a problem which has an influence on children’s growth. Western medicine to treat the disease is mainly oral laxatives, intestinal probiotics, topical laxatives, etc. Although the effect of pain relief can be achieved in a short time, the disease easily repeated after withdrawal, and it will even bring a lot of side effects for long-term use. Therefore, it is imminent to find treatments which have good clinical effects, few toxic and side-effects, and easily accepted by children. To solve this problem, this topic is based on the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) external treatment of pediatric diseases, as a precondition to dialectical therapy, massage and acupoint application treatment of children with constipation, and achieved good clinical effects. The topic mainly research on pediatric functional constipation, while organic constipation is not in our research areas. Objective:Observing the clinical effect of massage combined with acupoint application therapy for infantile dyspeptic gastroenteropathy constipation in children.Methods:60children matched with inclusion criteria in pediatrics of Wangjing Hospital from2013.02to2014.02were selected. They were divided into treatment and control group randomly,30cases in each group. Both groups were treated with basic treatment which included diet adjustment, defecation habit practice, increase physical activity, psychological and behavioral therapy, family education. With basic treatment, the treatment group was treated by massage combined with acupoint application therapy, and the control group was given xiao er hua shi wan by oral. Not only symptoms and clinical curative effect were quantified but also scores were observed5days and10days after treatment.10days for1 course of treatment. Observed of1course, and followed up for1month.Results:Both the treatment group and the control group achieved good effects. The treatment group treated for5days was similar between with the control group on primary and secondary TCM syndrome score improvement, the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). The total effective rate was86.7%in the treatment group treated for5days and73.3%in the control group, the treatment group treated for5days was similar between with the control group on the total efficiency, so the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). However, along with the prolonged treatment, the treatment group treated for10days was better than the control group on the primary TCM syndrome scores of stool frequency, characteristics of stool, defecation without a net, and constipation discharge problems. The treatment group was better than the control group on the secondary TCM syndrome scores of abdominal pain, abdominal distension, and appetite, food intake improvement. The difference was statistically significant (P〈0.05). The total effective rate was96.7%in the treatment group treated for10days and90%in the control group, In a word there was significant statistics difference between the two groups (p<0.01) on the total curative effect.1month follow-up showed that the total effective rate was90%in the treatment group and66.7%in the control group, so the treatment group were significantly lower than the control group in relapse rates of children, and there was significant statistics difference between the two groups (P<0.01).Conclusion:Xiao er hua shi wan is commonly used in clinical treatment of children constipation, although the efficacy and good results can be achieved in a short time, the long-term efficacy of xiao er hua shi wan is inferior to massage and acupoint application therapy. The curative effect of massage and acupoint application therapy on symptoms of infantile dyspeptic gastroenteropathy constipation in children is better than the oral group. Because of its convenience, no pain, children and parents are willing to accept. Clinical application has no obvious adverse reactions.l month follow-up showed that massage and acupoint application therapy is worthy of promotion and application that has lower relapse rates and long-lasting effect.
