Objective:To compare the difference between three different time in the efficacy of acupuncture interventing for insomnia to find the optical time for acupuncture intervention of sub-health insomnia and provide reference for improving the curative effect。Methods:90sub-health insomnia patients who visited to acupuncture clinic and sub-health center of Sichuan Inergrative Medicine Hospital from December2012to November2013and included in the standard and volunteered for the study of patients, were according to the proportion randomly divided into:morning, afternoon and evening group,30cases in each group. Three groups all use the same acupuncture method to intervene。Acupoints is Shenmai, Zhaohai,Shenmen,Baihui,Sanyinjiao.The time of retaining needle is30minutes。 Acupuncture intervention is one times a day, and five times is one treatment course, there are four courses, each of which have interval of2days. The Si group will accept intervention in9~11AM, while the Shen group will accept intervention in3~5PM, and the Xu group will accept intervention in7-9PM. To observe the scores of PSQI and TCM symptom and WHOQOL-BREF in the point of before and after intervention, then use the evaluation indexes to set up the database and analysis with SPSS17.0.Results:1. Comparison between three groups about the general information of groups and the scores of PSQI and TCM symptom and WHOQOL BREF before intervention showed that the difference had no statistically significant (P>0.05), it was comparable between groups.2.Looking from the scores of TCM symptom, total scores and each factor scores of TCM symptom of Si, Shen and Xu group were improved significantly after the intervention, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Compared with each group after the intervention, differences between the three groups in the score and total score of sleep difficulties with statistical significance (P<0.05). In the aspect of sleep difficulties score, Xu group is better than the Si Group and Shen group, however, in the aspect of total score, Xu group and Shen group is better than that of Si Group.3.Looking from the scores of PSQI, total scores and PSQI each factor scores of Si, Shen and Xu group were improved significantly after the intervention, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Comparing between each group after the intervention, The differences between three groups in the aspects of sleep efficiency, sleep time and total score were statistical significance (P<0.05). In the aspect of sleep efficiency, Xu group and Shen group is better than the Si Group (P<0.05). In the aspect of sleep time, Xu group was better than that of Shen group and Si Group (P<0.05).4. Looking from the scores of WHOQOL-BREF, total scores and each factor scores of WHOQOL-BREF of Si, Shen and Xu group were improved significantly after the intervention, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After the intervention, in the aspects of physical field and the total scores, the Si group and the Shen group had obvious difference which had statistical significance (P<0.05), as well as that ofthe Si group and the Xu group, however, the difference between the Shen group and the Xu group had no statistical significance (P>0.05).Conclusions:1. Acupuncture intervening insomnia has curative effect in Si time and Shen time and Xu time, and can improve the symptoms of insomnia and quality of life, in addition, intervening with acupuncture in Shen time or Xu time may be better than that in Si time. Shen time or Xu time is suggested to be the better time to treat insomnia with acupuncture.2. That intervening with acupuncture in the evening may be better than that in the morning or afternoon in the aspect of simply improving the trouble of falling asleep.
