Objective:To evaluate the clinical application value of retroperitoneal laparoscopicradical nephrectomy in T2renal cell carcinoma(RCC).Methods:56patients with T2renal cell carcinoma were retrospectively analyzed fromFebruar,2007to Februar,2010.24patients (18Males and6Females) were receivedretroperitoneoscopic radical nephrectomy(RPN);32patients (23Males and9Females)were received open radical nephrectomy (ORN).The operation time, blood loss volumeduring operation, bowel function recovery, hospital stay and postoperativecomplications were compared in two groups. Results:The operative time in the ORN group (166.30±28.20min) was significantlyshorter than that in the RPN group (188.20±27.40min),P<0.05.The estimated bloodloss volume in the RPN group (285.10±220.20ml) was also significantly less than inthe ORN group(446.20±273.40ml), P<0.05. Patients in RPN group experiencedsignificantly shorter bowel function recovery and ambulation time than those in theORN group after operation. All Patients were followed up for36~60months, Thepostoperative metastasis rate was12.5%in RPN group, and was16.7%in OPNgroup. No severe perioperative complications occurred. Kaplan-Meier survival curvesshowed that the followed up for survival rates of the two groups had no statisticallysignificant difference, P>0.05.Conclusions:The data indicates that the RPN for T2renal cancer treatment is safe andeffective. Compared with OPN, RPN has less blood loss, faster postoperative intestine recovery, earlier ambulation, shorter hospital stay.
