Huayutongmai Decoction In Treating Carotid Artery Atherosclerosis Clinical Research

Objective: through clinical research of huayutongmai decoction of atherosclerosis(AS) and the clinical intervention effect of plaque formation, and to explore the clinicalcurative effect of TCM intervention AS mechanism, in order to improve the importance ofTCM in the AS therapy, and in order to further improve the prevention of cardiovasculardisease to provide clinical basis.Methods: this study collected from Shandong Province Qianfo Hill hospital chinesemedicine wards and out patient with carotid plaques in72patients as the researchobject,adopt the method of random digits table,divided into the observation group and thecontrol group two groups,each group were give routine western medicinetreatment,application Aspirin Enteric-coated Tablets, atorvastatin calcium oraltreatment,the observation group plus huayutongmai decoction treatment,treatment for12weeks.Before and after treatment, detection of carotid artery ultrasound manifestations andBlood Lipids, liver and kidney function and other laboratory indexes.After the end oftreatment tostop taking huayutongmai decoction,and followed up for six months,recordthe new onset cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events.Results: the clinical study showsin thecarotid artery IMT andthe patcharea,huayutongmai decoction plus atorvastatin calcium combinationtherapy,clinicalcurative effectis much better than that of atorvastatin calcium group.Plushuayutongmai decoction,can not only strengthen thelipid regulating effect,make TC,LDLfurther decreased,HDL increased,but alsosignificantly reduce theeffect on TG. Afterfollow-up for half a year,found no new onset cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events.Safety test showed no abnormality.Conclusion: This study showed that the huayutongmai decoction have the function ofresisting atherosclerosis good, can reduce the mean intima-media thickness of the carotidartery, promote plaque regression; combination with atorvastatin calcium, can obtain the stack effect; tip huayutongmai decoction can effectively improve the hardening of thearteries, may be beneficial to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascularevents; at the same time with drug safety good.
