Objectives:This study through two kinds of data source: scientific papers and patents’combination analysis, based on visualization analysis of the current situations andhotspots over the field of anti-anxiety drugs from the temporal variation trend andinstitution distribution, regional distribution, co-citation map, hotspots co-occurrenceand hotspots trend, then plotted the results on a unified view, to be morecomprehensive, objectively and accurately reflects the development panorama ofacademic and industrial over the field of anti-anxiety drugs, and verify there is a rulebetween the scientific research and technical innovation, so as to provide decisionsupports and valuable information resources for researchers engaged in R&D,production and innovation activities, to assist researchers to identify the objects ofdirection, plan the scope of innovation and adjust the direction of development, finallystimulate technological innovation.Research Methods:Select the patent literatures and scientific papers from Derwent Innovation Indexand Web of Science database as the data source, retrieval anti-anxiety drugs relatedpatents and papers, after duplicate removal and format conversion, then using themethods of Mapping Knowledge Domain and patent information analysis collects,analyzes the data and visualize the status and hotspots in the field of anti-anxietydrugs by CiteSpaceII, TDA, SPSS, EXCEL and other software.Research Results:Draw out the trends of literature and patent between quantity and time over thefield of anti-anxiety drugs, institution distribution, geographical distribution map ofmapping knowledge domain, we consider by the analysis: in the field of anti-anxietydrugs, technology developments early, but lack enough momentum in later period, then in recent years, the growth is relatively slow. During recent ten years papers arein the steady increasing stage and there are still continued increasing trends. TheUnited States started earlier and development is more mature, in this field has a stronginfluence and market share, but in this field our country’s research is still in its infancy,but has gradually began to occupy the market. The corporation of institution isrelatively closed, the institution don’t have a significant advantage in basic researchand technology innovation research at the same time.Draw out the patent-paper mixedco-citation map, hotspots co-occurrence map, highly cited burst detection map, weconsider by the analysis: the field of anti-anxiety drugs is focused on the two angles ofanxiety model and anti-anxiety drugs action mechanism, and sort out the developmentin the field, mainly through three stages that is, the technology enlightenment andmechanism exploration, the interactive development and symptoms study, the furtherexploration and prognosis study. Show the current situation and research hotspotsover the field of anti-anxiety drugs vividly, intuitively and fully.Conclusion:Combined analysis of two data sources (patents and scientific papers) to detectfield situations and hotspots are according to theories, feasible on technically, and theresults of both can validate and complement each other, the results are better thananalysis of a single data source. The innovation are: on the theoretical level, Made itclear that the similarities and differences between scientific papers and patents and theneed for a combination of analysis, then generalize, contrast and analyze the commontools of scientific mapping knowledge and patent information analysis methods; onthe methodological level, combination analysis of two kinds of data sources: scientificpapers and patents reasonably and effectively; on the application level, detect the fieldstatus and hotspots of anti-anxiety drugs comprehensively and systematically.Limitations are: Frist, during the data preprocessing stage, I use the artificial methods,its workload is large and tedious. Second, I choose the Derwent patent classificationcodes as keywords’ identifies, it may be influence the visual interpretation.
