Effect of heat waves on CHD in its occurrence and development is significant, but the current domestic research approaches on the effects heat waves to CHD are mostly confined to the population epidemiological methods and its specific influencing mechanism is still short of trial proofs and profound discussions. In this paper, we chose Nanjing City as our research region. On the basis of analyzing the occurrence characteristics of local heat waves and its influences to CHD and other diseases, we simulated a real heat wave process by using a meteorological simulator based on animal experiment, objective to investigate the effecting mechanism of heat wave inducing and worsening CHD through determinating weight, rectal temperature, ET-1, NO, HSP60, SOD, TNF, sICAM-1and HIF-1α of mice. The main conclusions were as follows:(1) Nanjing is a city with frequent occurrence of high temperature day and heat wave. In the past10years, high temperature days and harming high temperature days occured153d and12d. Heat wave and strong heat wave happened20times and9times respectively. Our research showed that morbidity and mortality in many diseases have over-occurred during high temperature days and heat waves while CHD were the main diseases.(2) Body weight had increased slightly by the end of the experiment while rectal temperature rose significantly during the process of heat wave. In the meantime, heat wave could induce the increase of plasma TNF, sICAM-1and heart HSP60, HIF-la as well as induce the desease of the activity of heart SOD to regulate animal’s autoimmunity, inflammation, oxidative balance and angiogenesis, which might be the reason to explain the higher occurrence of CHD during heat wave.(3) Mice given BH4had higher NO and SOD activity levels, and lower temperature, HSP60, TNF, sICAM-1, HIF-1α levels, indicating that BH4could promote airframe’s heat-dissipating efficiency and weaken the heat stress. It could be concluded that BH4can reduce the expression of HSP60and alleviate the effect of heat wave on levels of SOD activity, TNF, sICAM-1and HIF-1α in mice, so that it can mitigate the harm of heat wave. It was clear that taking BH4could help to take precautions against CHD and remit its development.
