Lifestyle Survey Of Elderly Diabetes Patients In The Community

Objective:To analysis the dietary structure,nutrition and sports status of the patients with diabetes in the community.Methods:3days24-hour dietary survey and physical activity questionnaire were conducted in506diabetes patients survey. Survey included two days at ordinary times and one day of rest.Results:All patients were categorized by BMI,38.14%were overweight and8.70%were obesity. Only one third of the patients participate the physical activities in the ordinary life. Compared with the dietary pagoda (2007), the intakes were obviously lower in beans&nuts(13.82±19.68g/d, P<0.05), fruits(47.01±71.51g/d, P<0.05) and milk (4.92±31.52g/d, P<0.05). On the opposite, the intakes of meat were very high (112.16±.74g/d, P<0.05). Energy intakes (3457.88±1223.07Kcal/d, P<0.05) were44.04%higher than the recommended level, and fat intakes (56.44±40.17g/d, P<0.05) were even125.76%higher than the recommended level, sodium intakes (2753.43±1456.20mg/d, P<0.05) were also higher than the recommended level. However, the intakes of proteins, calcium, zincs, vitamin A and vitamin C were lower than the recommended level, and calcium intake (347.17±208.63mg/d, P<0.05) only at the half of the recommended level.Conclusions:The dietary structures of the patients were not reasonable, exercise less than normal, we suggest the patients reduce the energy and fat intakes,increase the fiber intakes,moderate exercise,so as to balance the dietary and nutrition.
