Objective: To investigate the relationship between the polymorphism of SOCS-3gene and dyslipidemiain Xinjiang Uygur population. Then to explore whether polymorphism of SOCS-3and dyslipidemia arecorrelated in male or female Uygur population, respectively. Methods: A study which included1379participants in Hetian Xinjiang Uygur population who have nointerracial marriage of three generations was performed. Consulting the relevant literature, three TagSNPs which included rs12953258、rs4969168and rs9914220were selected. The method of T a q M a n—P C R was used to identify genotype. To know the frequency distribution of three sites betweendyslipidemia group and normal group, different lipid component groups respectively. To analysiswhether three Tag SNPs and dyslipidemia or abnormal lipid componet are correlated respectively.Possible mechanism is discussed.Results:(1)Among1379Uyger population, frequency distribution of genotype(χ2=11.65,P=0.003)and allele(χ2=12.46,P=0.002) in rs12953258sites between dyslipidemia group and normal group wasfound to exist significant difference.(2) Between abnormal HDL-C group and control group(χ2=8.81,P=0.012), abnormal TG group and control group(χ2=15.3,P=0.0004),genotype frequency distributionof genotype in rs12953258have significant difference respectively.(3) Based on the logistic regressionanalysis, genotype CA and AA of rs12953258are independent and risk factors to dyslipidemia inUygur from the minority area of Xinjiang(.CC vs. CA OR=1.4895%CI1.11-1.98P=0.008)(,CC vs.AA OR=2.4895%CI:1.07-5.79P=0.035)。(4) Genotype AA of rs12953258which was taken for asusceptibility gene merge with people whose WHR are abnormal having high prevalence ofdyslipidemia.(5) The frequency of haplotype4(H4) A-G-C in dyslipidemia group is higher than controlgroup (8.44%vs5.37%,P=0.003).(6)Frequency distribution of rs12953258sites was found to existsignificant difference in only female Uygurs between dyslipidemia group and normal group(χ2=6.905,P=0.032), abnormal HDL-C group and control group(χ2=7.065,P=0.029)respectively.(7) Accordingto Logistic analysis, genotype AA of rs12953258is a risk factor for dyslipidemia in female Uygurpopulation(CC vs AA, OR=3.271,95%CI:1.092~9.797P=0.034). Genotype AA of rs12953258mightbe related to decreased high HDL-C(CC vs AA,OR=4.105,95%CI:1.041-16.197,P=0.038)andincreased TC(CC vs AA,OR=3.537,95%CI:1.167-10.723,P=0.026).Conclusions: rs12953258of SOCS-3gene has close relationship with dyslipidemia in Xinjiang Uygurpopulation. Probably, combining genotype AA with people whose waistline are abnormal will increaseprevalence of dyslipidemia obviously. Polymorphism of SOCS-3is related to dyslipidemia only inUygur females.SOCS-3gene may not parcitipant in this diseases generally or has sightly effect on itamong male.
