Clinical Research Of Acupoint Catgut-embedding Periodic Therapy On Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome With Insulin Resistance

Objective: Observe the clinical efficacy of the acupoint catgut-embedding periodictherapy on treating patients with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome with insulin resistance, andto provide a simple and effective treatment for those patients.Methods:60PD patients were divided into two groups randomly, acupointcatgut-embedding periodic group and acupoint catgut-embedding group,30cases for eachgroup. To evaluate patients’ hisutism, acne scores, menstrual, abnormalities, LH, FSH,LH/FSH, T, FBG, FINS and HOMA-IR before and after3months treatment.Results:1. After3months treatment, the BMI index, hisutism and acne scores weresignificantly improved (P<0.05) in both groups. There was no significant differencebetween two groups (P>0.05).2. After3months treatment, the menstruation, LH, FSH, LH/FSH, T weresignificantly improved (P<0.05) in both groups. There was no significant differencebetween two groups (P>0.05) with the LH, FSH, and T. There was significant differencebetween two groups (P<0.05) with the LH/FSH.3. The symptoms with insulin resistance can be effectively improved in both twogroups. The FBG, FINS and HOMA-IR were significantly reduced (P<0.05). There was nosignificant difference between two groups (P<0.05) with the FBG and FINS. There wassignificant difference between two groups (P<0.05) with HOMA-IR.Conclusion: Acupoint catgut-embedding periodic therapy is one of effective methodsto treat the PCOS with insulin insistance. The operation is simple, and cost is low. What’smore, it is combined with periodic therapy which is aimed to the changes of menstruation.It is more adaptive to the fast-tempo of life in this modern society, and worthes to be clinically promoted.
