Purpose: The objective of this paper is to observe the clinical efficacy and adversereactions of Wind-dispelling and Pain-relieving Capsule in curing migraine (which is alsocalled Slowed Blood Flow in Traditional Chinese medicine), and identify their characteristicsand advantages in treatment, so as to evaluate its clinical value and lay a theoretical basis forclinical and research work.Method:60patients with migraine (which is also called Slowed Blood Flow inTraditional Chinese medicine) took part in this experiment. They were divided into2groups,the experimental group and the control group according to various methods, includingthe randomized method, double-blind method and placebo-controlled design method. The30patients in test group took Wind-dispelling and Pain-relieving Capsule orally for12weeks,while the30patients in control group took comfort simulated capsule orally in the sameperiod. The final evaluation of drug efficacy and safety was reached through the observationof patients in these two groups in the light of the main symptoms of migraine and associatedsymptoms, the efficacy of TCM symptoms (including primary disease, secondary psychosischange) and the emergence of adverse reactions during treatment or other incidents in thefirst4weeks and the last4weeks.Result:60clinical cases of which included30patients in the control group and30patients in the experimental group were collected and the corresponding observation wascomplete. In light of efficacy of migraine symptoms, the total efficiency of the experimentalgroup is86.67%, while it is only23.33%in the control group. There is a significant differenceaccording to the statistic P <0.01. The results are the same with TCM migraine symptoms. Conclusion:It is proved that the use of Wind-dispelling and Pain-relieving Capsule is asound and effective way to treat migraine(which is also called Slowed Blood Flow inTraditional Chinese medicine), because its effective treatment can alleviate the syndrome ofthis disease through decreasing the attack frequency and pain intensity of the migraine, andrelieve the concomitant symptom. Moreover, there are no significant adverse reactions andside effects. In the light of the pathogenic characteristics of migraine, this study furtherelucidated this disease, innovated and improved the pathogenesis of migraine.
