Study On Hospice Mode Of Wuhan

Hospice, which was born from religion, is the most humane development outcome of human society because of the inherent humanitarian spirit and the respect for life. Following the economic development and social change in Wuhan City, the deepening of aging population degree, the changes in population structure, family structure and public spectrum of disease made hospice to be broad prospects for development by becoming the urgent needs of the residents. When hospice was introduced to Wuhan City at the first time, it received widespread attention. The society has great enthusiasm on it. But in recent years, some widespread unsolved problems made the development of hospice stuck in bottleneck, those are:the acceptance level is too low, no guarantee of service quality, lack of money, institutions have difficulties in operations, service does not meet the demand.This paper uses the combination of literature analysis and in-depth interviews. First introduces the development history and current situation of hospice in Wuhan city, then analysis the demand of clients and describes problems:lack of independence, short of professional team member, and the service is too simple. Thus I combines the analysis of existing problems and the needs of clients with Hong Kong and Taiwan regions and foreign countries successful experiences, and gives the suggestion that in order to walk out of "bottleneck period" for hospice, Wuhan city should put the community hospice model into practice according to the specific conditions here.This paper focuses more on how to implement the community hospice model. From the three levels of hospice:As a service, the model include professional team form, establish 3-steps evaluation system which cover the early middle and late period of hospice to provide social support system and high quality service for clients. As a discipline, the model build a professional platform to promote the exchange and development of relevant disciplines and fields, and promote the spread of hospice philosophy, the life-and-death education, knowledge of hospice, and the professional education development. As a kind of institution, this mode is the introduction of market mechanism, relying on adequate financial support and complete circulation of capital, which is use of scientific management system, flexible mode of operation and standardized industry standards to achieve an organization’s own virtuous cycle and sustainable development. Thus the model greatly make up for local existing models.The study on the mode of hospice enriches the existing theoretical service modes, summarizes more valuable experience about how to develop the mode and provides reference suggestions in order to improve the hospice service system and develop hospice in the practice.
