Millettia speciosa belongs to Millettia. Studies shows that plants of Millettia contain many active ingredients, such as ketone, terpenoids, steroids, and alkaloids.It has parasitic resistance, resistance to estrogen, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, or antiviral activity..This study using water and ethanol, respectively,extracted polysaccharide and ethanol extract from Millettia speciosa Champ.The results of the study were as follows:(1).Polysaccharide and alcohol extract can increase the proliferation rate of mice spleen cell, but not dose depended. Polysaccharide and ethanol extracts have less affection on mice spleen cell. On the whole, polysaccharide and ethanol extracts have less affection on the mice spleen cell.(2)Polysaccharide has dose depended inhibitory effect on PGE2.Aalcohol extract has inhibitory effect on PGE2, but not dose depended Bboth of them has inhibitory effect on IL-6,but not dose depended. Polysaccharide has inhibitory effect on TNF-α, but not dose depended. Alcohol extract has less affection on TNF-a.On the whole, polysaccharide and ethanol extracts have less affection on the cytokines PGE2, IL-6 and TNF-α..(3)The polysaccharide can be dissolve in water.It containes uronic acid, nucleic acid and protein, but did not contain reducing sugar, ketone sugar, phenolic hydroxyl and starch. Separatied by DE-52 can get rid of the nucleic acid and protein.(4)14compounds were isolated from Millettia speciosa:(1) 3,11 a-dihydroxy-6 (7),12 (13)-diene-ursane, (2) 3,11 a-dihydroxy-12 (13)-en-ursane, (3) isoliquiritigenin, (4) medicarpin,(5)2’,4,4’,α-tetrahydroxydihydrochalcone,(6)2’,4-dihydroxy-4’-methoxychalcone,( 7)maackiain,(8)3’,4’-dihydroxy-7-methoxyisoflavone,(9)4-hydroxy-2’,4-dimethoxychalcone,( 10)2’,4’,α-trihydroxy-4-methoxydihydrochalcone,(11)calycosin,(12)8-hydroxypinoresinol,(13 )gancaonol,(14)3’,4’,7-trihydroxyisoflavone.
