Objective:To observe the influence of treatment based on traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation to people who were diagnosed pre-hypertension, the blood pressure level, clinical symptoms, blood sugar, the cholesterol and triglycerides were measured. and then observe the effect in reducing the incidence of hypertension and in improving the quality of life. To investigate the advantages of early intervention of Chinese medicine treatment to people of pre-hypertension from the perspective of "preventive treatment of disease " in traditional Chinese medicine, and try to provide the clinical basis for extensive prevention of hypertension using traditional Chinese medicine.Method:By using the method of prospective and randomized controlled study, according to the diagnostic criteria of pre-hypertension in "guidelines for prevention and treatment of hypertension in China (revised in 2010) "and the guidelines for prevention and treatment of hypertension in the European society of cardiology (ESC)/European society of hypertension (ESH), we preliminary screened out some people who were diagnosed pre-hypertension. Filled in the integral scale of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome and distinguish the differentiation of syndromes by experts. We selected 336 cases of patients of pre-hypertension who conformed the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria. According to the syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine, we divided these patients into group of diseases with ease 72 cases, group of phlegm and blood stasis mutual 128 cases and group of liver and kidney Yin deficiency 136 cases. According to the difference of treatment, we divided the patients into two groups, the experimental group (Chinese medicine and lifestyle intervention) with 224 cases and the control group (lifestyle intervention) with 112 cases. We tried to create healthy lifestyle through regularly follow-up and healthy education. For example, we guided all the patients to control the sodium intake, keep moderate exercise, reasonable diet, control weight, smoking and alcohol limit. the follow-up period is 24 months. Besides the lifestyle intervention, to patients in experimental group, we gave them Chinese medicine which is avoid fried particles, one dose a day, and take it twice in the morning and evening, every 4 weeks for a period of treatment, totally 12 months, then follow up for a period of 12 months. At last we established a database, input the data, statistical analysis was performed by spass17.0 software.Result:1. The changes of blood pressure:After intervention, the blood pressure of both groups were decreased in each periods, the differences compared between before and after intervention was statistically significant (P<0.01), and the treatment was effective. Comparison between groups after 6 months,12 months and 24 months intervention were statistically significant (P<0.01) by statistical analysis, the effect of anti-hypertension in treatment group is better than the control group.2. Anti-hypertensive effect and the incidence of hypertension: after 12 months intervention, the anti-hypertensive efficiency in treatment group was 47.7%, and the total effective rate was 87.2%; The anti-hypertensive efficiency in control group was 27.7%, and the total effective rate was 58.4%; Follow-up 12 months after the drug was stopped, we fund that the anti-hypertensive efficiency in treatment group was 50.5%, the total effective rate was 84.4%, and the incidence of hypertension was 6.9%, the anti-hypertensive efficiency in control group was 24.8%, the total effective rate was 56.4%, and the incidence of hypertension was 17.8%; The incidence of hypertension between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.01), the incidence of hypertension in treatment group was obviously lower than the control group.3. The changes of Tradition Chinese medicine syndromes:the Tradition Chinese medicine syndromes of both groups was decreased in each periods, the differences compared between before and after intervention was statistically significant (P<0.0\), and the treatment was effective. Comparison between groups after intervention in different periods was statistically significant (P<0.05) by statistical analysis, the symptoms improvement in treatment group is better than the control group. after 12 months intervention, the significant efficiency in treatment group was 10.09%, the total effective rate was 84.86%; the significant efficiency in control group was 2.97%, and the total effective rate was 35.64%; Follow-up 12 months after the drug was stopped, the significant efficiency in treatment group was 8.26%, the total effective rate was 82.11%; The significant efficiency in control group was 1.98%, and the total effective rate was 29.7%. Comparing the two groups patients, we got the conclusion that the significant efficiency and the total effective rate in treatment group were better than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).4. The changes of fasting blood glucose and the blood lipid:After the intervention, the levels of fasting blood glucose, TC and TG in treatment group were reduced, and the difference were statistically significant (P<0.05); In control group, the fasting blood glucose of all the patients and the TC, TG level in patients of normal level two years ago, we did not see obvious improvement, but the levels of TC and TG in patients whose blood lipid were abnormal two years ago were reduced, and the difference were statistically significant (P<0.05). Comparison between the two groups after intervention, the improvement of the level of fasting blood glucose, TC and TG in the treatment group were better than the control group, the difference were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:1. The method of traditional Chinese medicine differentiation syndromes th erapy with lifestyle intervention to patients of pre-hypertension can control the blood pressure obviously.2. The method of traditional Chinese medicine differentiation syndromes th erapy with lifestyle intervention to patients of pre-hypertension can improve the patients’symptoms and the quality of life effectively.3. The method of traditional Chinese medicine differentiation syndromes th erapy with lifestyle intervention can reduce the incidence of hypertension effect ively.4. The method of traditional Chinese medicine differentiation syndromes th erapy with lifestyle intervention can regulate the blood sugar, blood lipid level better.5. Using traditional Chinese medicine to prevent hypertension is safe and effective and small side effects.
