Research abroad on the work significance and load of doctors has made great achievements.the research in China is still lagging behind. Aiming at this phenomenon, we should strengthen the empirical research on domestic doctors’work meaning and load, and deeply and develop assessment tools and policy for our doctors according to the measures to local conditions. Therefore, the research on doctors’work meaning and workload has the significance of the Times.ObjectiveTo understand the feelings on work significance and load of all kinds of doctors in different levels of hospital in Shandong Province. Thus providing better quality for patients. Health services in order to improve the province better and faster development of medical disciplines, and lay a solid foundation for building a harmonious and civilized society.MethodsSampling follows the cost-effective principle:adopting the multistage stratified cluster random sampling method to extract, and using descriptive research survey method as the current investigation method. The thesis analyzed of multiple factors affecting the work meaning and workload, such as different gender, age, marital status, educational background, professional title, qualification (registered nurses or other), working years, institution type, working years in the present organization, whether belonging to formal staff, professional departments, management position (with or without), weekly working hours, monthly night shift times, work meaning and workload of annual income group, and perform relative analysis on the work meaning and workload of the doctors.ResultsThe analysis results show that among the sampling survey of 1351 doctors in Shandong Province, the overall score of work meaning is high and positively correlated with the doctor’s income, and negatively related to the engaged professional category and the weekly work hours; the workload score is generally high, and the workload has the negative correlation to education, institution type, age, management position, among which the age ranks first, then follows organization type, education and management position; Workload is positively correlated to weekly working hours and income, and the weekly working hours has higher correlation, compared with income. In the 16 items of basic situation, whether belonging to formal staff and working hours per week have significant differences with the work meaning. Work load score is high, with negative correlation education degree, while positive correlation to age, specialty and professional qualification. Work meaning is positively related to the workload, with a moderate correlation.ConclusionAccording to the data analysis, and put forward the following countermeasures:1) The doctors need to reduce workload, and make use of good service to improve the doctor-patient relationship.2) The government should formulate relevant laws to adjust the doctor’s work meaning and workload.3) The hospital administrative units use flexible deployment, and preferentially arrange the personnel, instrument and equipment and other supplies for the medical department of heavy workload.4) It is recommended to improve the doctor’s treatment, increase economic compensation and social support.5) Medical institutions provide more humanistic care for clinical frontline doctors such as meals, transportation, rest, amateur cultural life, illness, etc, and strengthen the construction of software facilities to embody the humanized management of hospital.6) In dealing with the doctor-patient contradiction, hospitals, government and even the whole society should consider the issues from the perspective of medical staff to avoid biased and radical way to in addressing problem. The whole society should give staff the corresponding understanding and support.7) The related reform should follow up, so that the medical work is a respected profession with a higher income and social status generally accepted by the society so as to improve the social work education for physicians’ work meaning.
