They were from the acupuncture clinic of the first affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and the students in this school. The treatment series used the acupoints. For instance, Danzhong(RN17), Qimen (LR14), Zhangmen(LR13), Jingmen(GB25),Zhongwan(RN12), Riyue(GB24), Jueyinshu (BL14),Ganshu (BL18), Pishu(BL20), Shenshu(BL23) and Weishu(BL21). After the arrival of Qi, the reinforcing-reducing method was employed in the abdominal points of the treatment team. After pulling out these needles,we pricking the points with needles on the back. While the control group use the acupuncture points such as both sides of Jianjing(GB21), Qimen(LR14), Zusanli(ST36), Neiguan(PC6),Tianshu(ST25),Lieque(LU7), Taichong(LR3) and Danzhong (RN17). After the arrival of Qi.this method was employed suitable stimulation after needling and before taking out the needles. Two groups of patients starting treatment two weeks before menstruation, every other day; three times a week, and stopped treatment during the period. A menstrual cycle is a course of treatment. Three continuous courses of treatment were needed. The clinic effects of both teams were assessed from the scores of associated symptoms before and after treatment. The database was established by the form of Excel table, and analyzed by SPSS21.0.ResultsAfter 3 courses of treatment, there were 11 cases cured,12 patients markedly effective,8 cases effective and only one case without effect in the treatment group. It’s total effective rate was 96.8%. While there were 2 cases cured, 9 cases markedly effective,18 patients effective and 3 cases without effect in the control group. Its total effective rate was 90.1%. Statistics processing of the curative effect of the two groups showed significant differences (P <0.05). In another word, the treatment group showed more advantages in scores of total symptoms and physical symptoms than that of control group.ConclusionsBack-Shu and front-Mu acupuncture method displayed obvious advantages in treating Liver-qi stagnation of PMS from its total scores and associated symptoms scores, especially in mood and relieving the breast tenderness. It is worth further research and promotion.
