ObjectiveTo review the progress of traditional Chinese medicine in the treat-m ent of infantile rotavirus enteritis, and puts forward the relevant probl ems in the modern clinical research. Combining the metagenomic me-thods a nd animal experiment, explore the representative prescription——Qiweiba izhu powder in treatment of children with rotavirus enteritis intestinal microbial mechanism.MethodsThe study consisted of two parts:literature review and experimental animal. The literature review summarizes the rotavirus enteritis associat-ed with traditional Chinese medicine treatment method and the curative e-ffect. The animal experiment part,9 litters of young KM rats were randomly divided into 2 groups, the treatment group and the control group, Both in-fected with rotavirus suspension gavage, the treatment group was given Qi weibaizhu power, while the control group was given the same volume of sal ine. After 3 day’s intragastric administration, take the rats’colonic con tents, and through the relevant research methods such as metagenomics, ana lysis the differences in Function genes of intestinal microflora.ResultsA large amount of clinical research literature shows that, Chinese me dicine in the treatment of rotavirus enteritis has both various methodsan d remarkable curative effect. However, many of the studies have had de-si gn and implementation flaws, such as small sample sizes, lack of multicen ter study, no standardized treatment, the problem of the control group, no clear diagnostic and therapeutic standard, etc. The results of animal ex periments show that after the Qiweibaizhu powder treatment, young rats wi th the infection of rotavirus enteritis have had changes in a number of f unctional genes of the intestinal microbial metabolism, especially the fu notion of genes related to carbohydrate metabolism. For example, in thegl ycolysis pathway, genes encoding 6-phosphofructokinase, fructosebispho-sp hate aldolase, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase increased, whilege nes encoding L-lactate dehydrogenase decreased; In the glycolysis pathw-ay, genes encoding pyruvate formate-lyase, pyruvate dehydrogenase, dihydr-oli poyl dehydrogenase, phosphate acetyltransferase increased; In the propionat e and butanoate pathway, genes encoding succinate-CoA ligase,3-hydroxy acyl-CoA dehydrogenase increase.ConclusionTraditional Chinese medicine treatment of infantile rotavirus enteritis has its unique advantages, but the research of its curative effect mechanism remains to be further. After the treatment of Qiweibaizhu power, some functional genes in colon of the rats infected with rotavirus intestinal change, which may be an important mechanism to reduce the symptoms of diarrhea.
