ObjectiveCardiac disfunction is the hotspot and difficulty in sepsis related research, which significantly increase mortality in sepsis patients. According to relevant literature reports, tanshinone IIA shows certain protect effects in animal sepsis models on myocardial inflammatory, myocardial cell injury and apoptosis. This research in order to further study tanshinone IIA from the aspects of cardiac fuction in sepsis myocardial injury protection, which may help to develop new drugs treating myocardial injury in sepsis and improve the level of treatment of sepsis, is of great economic and social value.MethodsThis research used the mice cecal ligation and perforation(CLP) sepsis model, divided into one normal saline group and three different doses of tanshinone IIA intervention groups. After CLP modeling, certain dose of normal saline and corresponding dose of tanshinone IIA were immediately intraperitoneal injected. Transthoracic ultrasound technology was used to measure the LVEDD, LVESD, AWD, AWS, PWD, PWS, FS% before and six-hours after modeling, and record the surivral time after CLP modeling of all mice.ResultsThere were no significant differences among all preoperative parameters between groups (P>0.05). Cardiac function became worse after CLP in all groups. Lateral comparison between groups after CLP shows that cardiac function in different doses of tanshinone IIA intervention groups were significantly better than the control group, characterized by significant increase in LVEDD, LVESD and decrease in FS (P<0.05), but the contrast between each dose group were not significantly different (P>0.05). In low, middle and high dose of Tan type IIA groups, survival time after CLP modeling was slightly longer than that of normal saline group, but there was no statistically significant difference (P>0.05).ConclusionTanshinone IIA dos not affect the survival time of sepsis mice, but has a protective effect on sepsis mice models’cardiac function, this could be by lowering inflammation factor levels and oxidative stress reaction, reduce calcium overload, and improving the abnormal apoptosis gene expression in mice. Indicates that Tanshinone IIA has certain value in symptomatic treatment of sepsis related carciac dysfunction, the concentration-response relationship, delivery time and dose need further explore.
