BackgroundIn Otolaryngology Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss is a common emergency, it’s also short for Sudden Deafness. Nowadays the investigations of Sudden Deafness focus on the improving of hearing loss. For the curative effect evaluation of the disease, hearing change is a main outcome measure. But the patients who suffer Sudden Deafness are usually have tinnitus symptoms in addition to hearing changes, sometimes even tinnitus is the first symptoms. Some patients consider that tinnitus brings more trouble to them than hearing loss do. They feel anxiety, anger or depression. It lowers their quality of life and work efficiency, even worse, some of them can’t live, study or work normally. Some patients’tinnitus will last for a long time even if their hearing level is recovered. In classifying syndrome types of TCM, the ear blood stasis type of sudden deafness is in the majority. Althought the research of clinical features for patients who have sudden deafness with tinnitus has gradually appeared at present, it is limited to the curative effect of sudden deafness hearing by the presence of tinnitus symptoms. There are few special investigations about the subject of relevant factors with prognosis for tinnitus of Sudden Deafness or reports related to tinnitus. It also lacks of a special study about tinnitus of sudden deafness obsessed with the ear blood stasis type. So it’s necessary to make a special study about the variation characteristics of tinnitus and correlation. It could provide the further evidences for the therapy and give instructional advices for the curative effect.Results75 cases of Sudden Deafness with tinnitus obsessed with the ear blood stasis type were collected from the GuangDong Hospital of TCM in March 2013 to December 2014. The average age of the patients with 40 males and 35 females was 44.53±15.18 years. The average time elapsed between the onset of heating loss and the beginning of treatmen was 9.88±8.32 days.20 patients were with vertigo,41 patients have swollen ear and 21 patients had difficulties in sleep. The results of single factor analysis show that, the prognosis of the tinnitus was correlated with in-hospital time (P<0.05), but not with the hearing threshold levels of both speech and highfrequencles、the types of the audiometric curve、the objective syndrome differentiation、which ear suffered、 the sensation level of tinnitus、sex、the age、the effectiveness of hearing loss treatment、quality of sleep、with or without vertigo, etc (P>0.05) Logistic regression analysis shows that, only in-hospital time are connected with the prognosis of tinnitus(P<0.05).ConclusionAccording to the statistical analysis, the longer in-hospital time be, the better tinnitus rehabilitation will be. The hearing threshold levels of both speech and highfrequencles, the types of the audiometric curve, the ear side, the sensation level of tinnitus, sex, age, in-hospital time simultaneous vertigo, swollen ear and dyssomnia have no significant correlation with the rehabilitation of tinnitus.
