Painless Bee Therapy In Treating Chronic Simple Rhinitis’ Clinical Research

PurposeTo compare the changes of symptoms, physical signs integral as well as VAS score before and after painless bee therapy and conventional acupuncture treatment on patients with chronic simple rhinitis, evaluate short, long-term curative effects of painless bee therapy, scientifically evaluate intervention effects of bees needle on chronic simple rhinitis, analyze its feasibility, security and repeatability and explore a more effective method for chronic simple rhinitis which serves for clinical treatment.MethodsThe research set patients with chronic simple rhinitis as patients resource. Following the principle of evidence-based medicine and clinical epidemiology, based on diagnostic criteria, the research divided 66 cases of patients with chronic simple rhinitis included into the research into treatment group and control group at random. Applied Lingnan painless bee therapy for patients in treatment group, while conventional acupuncture treatment in control group. Prepared chronic simple rhinitis symptoms and physical sign rating scale, VAS before and after the treatment as well as follow-up treatment (four weeks after the treatment). Established database for statistic analysis thus to obtain conclusion.Results:1. After two treatment causes, the curative rate of treatment group and control group are 16.13% and 0% respectively, and total curative effect of 96.77% and 90.32% respectively which indicate that the total short-term of treatment group is superior to that of control group (P<0.05).2. The symptom and physical sign integral of both groups decreased (P<0.01). The effects of treatment group are more significantly decreased compared to that of control group (P<0.05) which indicate that in terms of improving overall symptoms as well as physical signs, treatment group is superior to control group.3. Treatment group is obviously superior to control group on aspect of improving "turbinate swelling", "nasal mucosa congestion" and other physical signs (P<0.05); the curative effects of both groups in terms of improving symptoms such as nasal obstruction and nasal mucus are similar (P>0.05). The difference is not statistically significant.4. The VAS results of both groups decreased significantly(P<0.01). The decreasing of treatment group is more obvious than that of control group (p <0.05), which indicates that treatment group is obviously superior to control group on aspect of improving disease troubles.5. After the treatment, the curative rate of treatment group and control group are 22.58% and 9.68% respectively, and total curative effect of 90.32% and 80.65% respectively which indicate that the total long-term curative effects of treatment group is superior to that of control group (p<0.05).ConelusionsIt has been detected through clinical observation that both Lingnan painless bee therapy and conventional acupuncture treatment have obvious short-term curative effects on chronic simple rhinitis.Moreover, short-term total curative effects of bees needle treatment group are better than that of conventional acupuncture group. The curative effects of both groups in terms of improving symptoms such as nasal obstruction and nasal mucus are similar; bees needle treatment group is obviously superior to control group on aspect of improving "turbinate swelling", "nasal mucosa congestion". It has shown that bees needle therapy has better short, long-term curative effects with simple and rapid operation, good security, strong repeatability as well as good clinical popularization. It is an effective TCM external application for chronic simple rhinitis.
