Association Of Serum IL-22 And Total Ige With Chronic Urticaria

Objective:To study the serum levels of IL-22 in the patients of chronic urticaria. And then explore its role in the pathogenesis of chronic urticaria, provide new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.Methods:60 patients with chronic urticaria as CU group and 30 healthy people as control group were assigned.The serum levels of IL-22 were determined by ELISA and compared between the CU group and the control group. The patients were divided into total IgE positive group and total IgE negative group after the serum deteeted total IgE by Westem blot.The serum levels of IL-22 were compared with the total IgE positive group, the total IgE negative group and the control group. After courses of disease were recorded and symptoms of the patients were scored, the relationship about the serum levels of IL-22 and total IgE and the correlations of the symptom scores and courses of disease with them were analyzed.Results:Serum levels of IL-22 in CU group (160.76±42.84 pg/ml) were signficantly higher than those in control group(52.33±16.17pg/ml)(t=12.93, p=0.000<0.05). Serum levels of IL-22 in total IgE negative group (151.11±30.49 pg/ml) and total IgE positive group (166.31±48.08 pg/ml) were signficantly higher than those in control group (t=14.74,12.03,respectively, p=0.000,0.008<0.05). Serum levels of IL-22 in total IgE negative group were higher than those in positive group (t=1.492, p=0.141>0.05). Serum levels of IL-22 were positively correlated to the levels of total IgE(r=0.316,P:=0.014< 0.05).Serum levels of IL-22 and total IgE were positively correlated to the scores of symptom (r=0.423,0.449,respectively,P=0.001,0.000<0.05),but not correlated to the courses of disease(r=0.196,0.196,respectively,P=0.133,0.134> 0.05).Conclusions:1) IL-22 may participate in the pathogenesis of chronic urticaria.2) Serum IL-22 and total IgE may play a synergistic role in the pathogenesis of chronic urticaria and make symptom aggravated gradually, but not affect the course of disease.3) IL-22 and total IgE can be used to evaluate the severity of clinical symptoms in chronic urticaria.But IL-22 may be more advantage than the total IgE in condition assessment of disease.
