Objective:This article aims to finding may affect the prognosis of maxillary sinus cancer through analysis patients case and provide clinical data to reduce mortality and improve the prognosis.A retrospective analysis of the relationship between different forms of treatment, pathological type, tumor stage with patients have malignant tumor of maxillary sinus. Methods:The 70 patients all select from the first affiliated hospital of Bengbu Medical College, Department of Otolaryngology from 2001 to 2009, including 42 cases male and 28 female. The patients were grouped by tumor invasion and location, histological classification, histological differentiation, T stage and lymph node metastasis, treatment methods, surgical margin pathology, etc.Observe the relationship between these factors and the maxillary sinus cancer 5-year survival rate.Be carried out using SPSS statistical analysis software and P <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results:The 3-year survival of patients was 47.1%, 5-year survival rate was38.6%.Squamous cell carcinoma is the most common malignant tumor of the maxillary sinus tumor. This group the malignant melanoma mortality rate was 100%, It is the worst prognosis cancer.Stage T1 and Stage T2 5-year survival rates were 60.0% and58.3%.T3 and stage T4 5-year survival rates were 35.0%,30.3%.The patients who have no cervical lymph node metastasis 5-year survival rate of 46.4% and cervical lymph node metastasis 5-year survival rate of 14.3%. The poorly differentiated group, the differentiation group and the well differentiated group inthe 5-year survival rates were 35.3%, 30.4% and 40%.In addition to invade and hard palate or the posteriorwall of the maxillary sinus with maxillary sinus malignant tumor did not reduce the survival rate of 5 years, other parts of invasion and will reduce the survival rate of patients. The comprehensive treatment method in the treatment of maxillary sinus malignant tumor 5 years survival rate is higher than the other treatments. Non endoscopic treatment group and nasal endoscopic treatment group 5-years survival rates were 46.3%,45.4%. Radiotherapy after operation and 5-year survival rate was 45.4%, after operation radiotherapy 5-year survival rate was 43.7%.Conclusions:Early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment plays a important role in the improve patient survival. At present, there is no clear proposal to treat maxillary cancer base on Tumor growth place, staging, histological type, biological characteristics, duration.Adopt comprehensive treatment based on surgery treat maxillary sinus cancer has been widely recognized.Endoscopic maxillary sinus malignant tumor resection is the future trend of development.
