Objective: Investigate and compare the types of diseases, age, seasonal incidence, mortality, and hospital infections, antibiotics and infection control applications in neurological intensive care unit of our hospital occurred(NICU) from 2011 to 2013.To assess development trends in nosocomial infection recognize and remove defects and infection control related factors in our Branch. To hospital and seek treatment and care in response to the effective control of hospital infections. Methods: According to the medical records department retrieved discharged patients hospitalized cases, using Methods A retrospective survey on January 1st, 2011- December 31 st, 2013 hospitalized patients meet the conditions for disease categories, risk factors for infection, anti-Comparative study on the drug situation and trends in antibiotic susceptibility and resistance of.Results: 1.NICU patients was the main income of cerebrovascular disease, accounting for about 83.39% of the total number of discharged patients, and patients with different types of nosocomial infections cerebrovascular disease, outcomes were significantly different. 2 NICU average inpatient mortality, length of stay, nosocomial infection rate nearly three years since the declining trend, three-year average mortality rate was 22.94%, 13.47% incidence of nosocomial infections. 3 the main risk factors for nosocomial infection and the patient’s age, sex, type of disease, the patient’s underlying disease, season, application of inhibitors of the immune system, invasive examination and treatment procedures, fluid intake and output, and the ventilator applied antibiotics improper and so on. 4 nosocomial lower respiratory tract infections mainly Gram-negative bacterial strains cultured mainly fungal infections in three years that a downward trend in the proportion of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infection rates decline, Staphylococcus epidermidis and class Corynebacterium diphtheria infection rates increased significantly. 5 In recent years, the proportion of a joint administration of antibiotics increased the proportion of bivalent or even triple therapy decreased, rationalize the use of antibiotics. Type use of antibiotics to β- lactam antibiotics based. Conclusions: Inpatient neurological ICU patients with cerebrovascular disease mainly due to the basic conditions of poor patients, risk factors for infection, long hospitalization period, so the higher incidence of nosocomial infections in NICU. Health care workers in the course of treatment and care, to avoid or reduce the occurrence of these risk factors, and strengthen neurology ward management of patients with severe, strict aseptic technique, based on the patient’s condition rational use of antibiotics and effective control of nosocomial infection incidence.
