ObjectiveThrough the analysis of the medical research of treatment for cervical type cervical spondylosis, the treatment has adopted wheat grain moxibustion and mild moxibustion. According to the objective analysis of comparative studies and the evaluation of clinical efficacy and superiority of cervical type cervical spondylosis by using wheat grain moxibustion and mild moxibustion. This study can provide the positive and effective method to cure for cervical type cervical spondylosis.MethodsIn this study, the targets are selected from The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. There are 60 qualified targets generalized into randomize testing of cervical type cervical spondylopathy; divided into two groups on average:Wheat grain moxibustion group and mild moxibustion group. Furthermore, this search has selected an acupuncture points which are Tianzhu point(BL 10)、Xinshe point(EX-HN24)、 Dazhui point (GV 14)> Jianjing point (GB 21)、Houxi point(SI 3). Both groups has taken general acupuncture as a basis treatment. After acupuncturing the points of wheat grain moxibustion and mild moxibustion, which are Dazhui point(GV 14)、Xinshe point(EX-HN24)and Jianjing point(GB 21). The treatments of both groups lasted for 1 month (4 weeks in total),2 times per week, and 8 times within 4 weeks. For evaluation, Northwick Park neck pain scale (NPQ) and visual analogue scale (VAS) were adopted before and after the treatments. For statistical analysis, SPSS21.0 software was used according to the curative effect evaluation standard.Results1. The baseline comparison:From the comparison of two groups of target patients(Wheat grain moxibustion and mild moxibustion)according to the aspects of gender, duration of illness, ages and occupation. There are no significant differences in statistics (P>0.05), which illustrates that two baseline are horizontal consistency and the case reports are comparable.2. The evaluation of NPQ:The two-group patients would decrease NPQ evaluation after a complete treatment, the two groups after treatment have significant difference in statistics (P<0.01). It shows that these two treatments can ease the suffering from neck and be efficiency. There is statistical significance between these two groups after treatment (P<0.01). It suggests that for the efficacy of easing neck pain, wheat grain moxibustion group is superior to mild moxibustion group.3. The evaluation of VAS:Both groups decreased the VAS of cervical type cervical spondylopathy. The difference between two groups after treatment is statistically significant (P<0.01), which illustrates that wheat grain moxibustion group is superior to mild moxibustion group.4. Comparison of efficiency:After treatment, wheat grain moxibustion group’s total effective rate was 93.33%, mild moxibustion group’s total effective rate was 83.33%. The two groups are statistically significant (P<0.01), which illustrates that the clinical curative effect of the wheat grain moxibustion group is superior to the mild moxibustion group. ConclusionBoth wheat grain moxibustion and mild moxibustion can decrease clinical symptoms of neck pain, which have a good clinical effect for cervical type cervical spondylosis. The comparison of two moxibustions, the general curative effect of wheat grain moxibustion is superior to mild moxibustion. Therefore, wheat grain moxibustion is a method of effective and safe, worthy to be applied widely in clinical treatment for cervical type cervical spondylosis.
