Objective Discussion the clinical value of EMG positioning nerve rootinjury of lumbar disc herniation (lumbar4-5segments section). Methods Select the81cases of lumbar disc herniation patients met theinclusion criteria and finishing the preoperative imaging test and EMG. thedamaged nerve roots of all patients were made exploratory during the surgery.Compare the compliance rate between radiographic and EMG in positioningsegments of herniated disc and the damaged nerve root. Results In the81cases of patients with lumbar disc herniation (L4-5),the positioning disc segment of61patients by preoperative EMG is in line withthe result, with a sensitivity75.3%, and lower than the imaging studies (100%).The95cases of the pressed and damaged nerve roots are probed, the79cases werelocated, all of them were confirmed in intraoperative exploration. The sensitivityof positioning the damaged nerve root is83%, and the positive predictive value ofis100%.Conclusion Preoperative diagnosis of the damaged nerve root of lumbardisc herniation by EMG have a higher sensitivity, positive predictive value of is100%. By EMG, the degree and even of damaged nerve root can be clearly found, surgical exploration of the scope of surgery is prompt, and a more rational surgicaltreatment can be developed.
