Most of the health communication studies in China were focusing on the relationsbetween the physicians and patients, barely using the quantitative research method toverify the communication effect of one specific kind of medical information. Thisstudy aim to investigate the communication environment and the persuasive effect ofthe no-fault medical disputes happened in public hospitals. The main question that I want to explore through this study is: As an incident thatdidn’t involve any medical malpractice and misdiagnoses, will this incident have abad influence on the hospital, and will it affect peoples’attitude and evaluation towardthe hospital? There were58people participated in the two experiments of this studyand they were divided into two groups at random,33for the control group,25for theexperimental group. The first experiment was to investigating whether the No-faultmedical dispute news had an influence on the subjects’ evaluation to the targethospital. This is a2×3between groups factorial experiment, whether the subjects readthe news or not is the between-group factor, subjects’ evaluation on the medicaltreatment quality, medical service quality and hospital management level are theinner-group factors. The second experiment was a2×3repetitive measured study.I asked the subjects of the experimental group to read two materials about the no-faultmedical disputes and filled out two questionnaires successively, and see if theirattitudes would change after they read the two materials.Through the two experiments we could see that the persuasive effect of the no-faultmedical disputes was quite obvious. Control group’s evaluation to the hospital wasremarkably better than the experimental group; and experimental group’s attitudeabout the no-fault medical disputes obviously changed after they read theexperimental materials.
