| Objective:To investigate the impact of endometriosis symptoms in161women aged22to45years old on the quality of life and work productivity.Methods:All the questionnaire date of161endometriosis cases in women aged22to45years old who received surgical treatment in our hospital in the period extended from July1st,2012to June30th,2013. Questionnaire include3scale:SF-12ã€EHP-5and WPAI. Results:103cases (64.0%) Endometriosis affected their physical health resulting in not completing the work,100cases (62.1%) Couldn’t complete the work because of the mental status,105cases (65.2%) Would complete the work but was restricted by the Endometriosis. Concerning the pain preoperatively:69of the cases (42.9%) The pain is seriously affecting the work,67cases (41.6%). Even walking is hard and painful and66cases (41.0%). Concerning the psychology:109cases (67.7%) are experiencing mood changing and96cases (59.6%). Concerning the work efficiency according to WPAI:68%of cases endometriosis is impacting work productivity. Because of the influence of endometriosis, the average loss of hours is about8.34hours per week. About the scale of EHP-5high effect and low impact between the indicators (presenteeism work, activity impairment, absenteeism, productivity loss) within the scope of the WPAI were statistically significant differences (p<0.05). About the scale of SF-12disease team and healthy teeam between the indicators (presenteeism work, activity impairment, absenteeism, productivity loss) within the scope of the WPAI were statistically significant differences (P<0.05).Conclusion:Endometriosis in161women aged22to45years old have negative influence on quality of lifeã€work productivity. |
