Objective The purpose of this reaserch aims to observe and sum up the clinical effect on prescription "Changkang Decoction" of Professor Wang Deming in treating irritable bowel syndrome., and at the same time carried on the experiment to explore its mechanism. Inheritance and classification of old doctor of traditional Chinese medicine prescription, in order to provide new ideas and methods for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome.Methods210patients with irritable bowel syndrome were randomly divided into2groups,108cases in the treatment group, oral Chinese medicine "Changkang Decoction" plus or minus, one dose daily;102cases in the control group, oral Trimebutine Maleate Capsules, O.lg each time,3times a day. Treatment for6weeks. At the same time, preparation of irritable bowel syndrome model of visceral hypersensitivity,72rats were randomly divided into6groups:high, middle and low dose group, positive drug control group, model group and blank control group.In the sixtieth day after making model, mice stomachs were perfused with Chinese traditional medicine or saline in ten days. Then observed Abdominal withdrawal reflex (AWR) semi quantitative score to determine visceral sensitivity in rats.Results The clinical observation indicated that the total clinical effective rate of the treatment group and Control group was85.2%,64.7%,with significant difference (PO.05); the defecation (diarrhea, constipation or mixed), abdominal pain, insomnia, loss of appetite and other symptoms integral comparison have significant difference (P<0.05). Animal experiments showed that the model group, AWR score was significantly higher than that in control group, AWR scores of high, middle and low dose group after treatment were decreased (PO.05).Conclusions "Changkang Decoction" has good curative effect in treating IBS,effectively improve patients with diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, insomnia, anorexia and other disorders, The possible mechanism to treat IBS is by improving visceral emotional Gao Min.
