Objective:To analyze percutaneous Kirschner wire fixation and analysis by manual reduction in the treatment of proximal humerus fractures in older children the effect of external fixation in two ways. Methods:A retrospective analysis of the proximal humerus in older children Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University Joint Surgery during January2011to January2014admitted to the fracture treatment is selected using the above two methods the children were followed up for children with functional exercises and follow the guidance of the late shoulder function case. Results:A total of65children who meet the criteria, including surgical treatment group of34people,31were non-surgical treatment group, all patients were followed up for3months to1year. In comparing the results of postoperative residual fracture reduction and shifting into a corner, the surgery group was significantly better than the children of non-surgical group (P<0.05); the non-surgical group hospitalization, surgical reduction of time, cost of hospitalization than surgery were lower in the surgery group at postoperative follow-up review of x-ray films to be less than the number of non-surgical group; groups of children showed no significant difference (in activity after Neer shoulder function percentile score and shoulder areas P>0.05). Conclusions:In the treatment of proximal humeral fractures in older children, the quality of surgical treatment after reset is superior to non-surgical treatment, but small children with non-surgical treatment of trauma shorter hospital stay, lower hospital costs, and in shoulder surgery no significant difference between the functions and activities of the aspects of the two methods shoulder. Due to the retrospective study, two groups of children with a small number of cases, and the follow-up time is shorter, the number of samples needed more children cases, longer follow-up,and some prospective, randomized controlled trial to further more reliable scientific basis.
