Clinical Observation Of Early Cognitive Impairment Of Stroke Patients Treated By Acupuncture Combined With Pharmacotherapy

Objective:The purpose of the research is to observe the comparative clinical effects on early cognitive impairment after stroke between20mild and moderate VD patients treated by "Triple Energizer"acupuncture combined with "Huang Di Powder"pharmacotherapy and the other control group of20patients treated by cerebrovascular disease basis treatment and to discuss the effects of treatment by acupuncture combined with chinese medicine on Early Cognitive Impairment after Stroke.Methods:40patients were randomly divided into comprehensive therapy group(n=20) and control group(n=20) by central randomization method, Finally included in the statistical analysis of17cases for each group because of three off cases.The patients of two groups were all given cerebrovascular disease basis treatment of modulating blood pressure,blood fat, blood glucose,antiplatelet and other vascular risk factors.The comprehensive therapy group was treated by acupuncture of’Danzhong"(CV17),"Zhongwan"(CV12),"Qihai"(CV6),"Xuehai"(SP10)," Zusanli"(ST36)and"Waiguan"(SJ5) for once a day,5times per week. On the basis of the previous treatment, was also given "Huangdi Powder" by oral, one bag a time, three times a day. Two groups of patients are treated for12consecutive weeks for a course of treatment. The indexes of two groups such as MMSE scores, ADAS-Cog scores, CDT scores were observed before and after treating for12weeks.In order to analyze efficacy of acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine therapy for early cognitive impairment after stroke by comparing the changes of each scale score.Results:(1)MMSE scores:Compared with pre-treatment, the MMSE scores of two groups were significantly higher after treatment(P<0.01).Meanwhile, the MMSE scores of the comprehensive therapy group were significantly higher than control group after treatment,tested by Ridit analysis (P＜0.05).(2) ADAS-Cog scores:Compared with pre-treatment, the ADAS-cog scores of the comprehensive therapy group after treatment were significantly lower(P<0.01). But the ADAS-Cog scores of the control group before and after treatment have no significant differences (P>0.05), and both of the two groups’ADAS-Cog scores have no significant differences after treatment (P>0.05).(3)CDT scores:The results showed that the comprehensive group’s CDT scores were significantly higher than before (P<0.01), while the control group has no significant differences after treatment (P>0.05), and the CDT scores of the comprehensive group after treatment were higher than the control group with statistical significance (P＜0.05).(4) The total effective rate of comprehensive treatment group was94.1%which is significantly higher than the control group52.9%.The statistics show that the effect of comprehensive therapy group were much better than the control group on the prevention and treatment of early cognitive impairment after stroke (P<0.05).Conclusion:The effect of comprehensive treatment group was significantly better than the control group on cognitive function.Especially in improving the cognitive functions associated with memory, orientation and calculation,etc. also improve the patient’s daily life ability and improve the survival status of the patients as a whole. So it is worthy to be popularized in clinic.
