Objective:To probe the distribution and drug resistance of bacteria isolated in exprostate secretion(EPS),and to assess the relationship between chronic prostatitis and the pathogenic organisms. Methods:A total of2759patients with chronic prostatitis underwent test of EPS culture, leukocyte counting of EPS,and the susceptibilities of the bacteria isolated EPS were detected. Results:A total of1104strains(40%) of bacteria were isolated from2759EPS specimens,80%(883/1104) of which were staphylococcus aureus and the rate of Meticillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) was33.3%(294/883).The drug resistance rate of MRSA, to penicillin, oxacillim, clindamycin, azithromycin, ciproflaxci, gentamycin and tetracycline was significantly higher than Meticillin sensitive Staphylococcus aureus(MSSA), and all MRSA was sensitive to vancomycin. Conclusion:The chief pathogenic bacteria is staphylococcus aureus and MRSA is common, which is meticillin-resistant;We should hold firmly the principle as give antibiotic to patients wth chronic prostatitis and avoid drug abuse.
