Objective:To probe into application value of Numb and VEGF detected in primary hepatocellular carcinoma, and the effect on prognosis of patients. Methods:Selected from February2006to February2009,60primary hepatocellular carcinoma patients in our hospital. Compared with27patients who were Liver injury or hepatic hemangioma during the same period. The positive expression rate of Numb and VEGF in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues, adjacent tissues and normal liver tissues were compared and analyzed. The relationship of Numb and VEGF positive expression with clinicopathological features and prognosis for the patients with primary hepatocellular carcinoma were compared and analyzed. The correlation of Numb and VEGF expression in primary hepatocellular carcinoma tissues were analyzed. Results:Compared with normal liver tissues, Numb protein weakly positive expression rate in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues was increased, there were statistically significant (P<0.05). The Numb protein expression has unrelated with gender, age, tumor size of patients and live cirrhosis, there were no statistically significant (P>0.05). The Numb protein expression has related with portal vein thrombosis, TNM stage of patients and Edmondson grading, there were statistically significant (P<0.05). For the hepatocellular carcinoma patients, portal vein tumor thrombus, clinical stage Ⅲ grade and Edmondson Ⅲ-Ⅳ grading, the Numb protein positive rate would be decreased significantly, there were statistically significant (P<0.05). Compared with normal liver tissues, VEGF positive expression rate in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues was increased, there were statistically significant (P<0.05). The VEGF expression has unrelated with gender, age, tumor size of patients and live cirrhosis, there were no statistically significant (P>0.05). The VEGF expression has related with portal vein thrombosis, TNM stage of patients and Edmondson grading, there were statistically significant (P<0.05). For the hepatocellular carcinoma patients, portal vein tumor thrombus, clinical stage Ⅲ grade and Edmondson Ⅲ-Ⅳ grading, the VEGF positive rate would be increased significantly, there were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was correlated negatively of the Numb protein expression and VEGF expression (P<0.05).Conclusion:The Numb protein expression downregulated and VEGF expression upregulated were correlated with primary hepatocellular carcinoma invasiveness. They could be as risk factors for prognosis. There was a negative correlation between the Numb protein expression and VEGF expression. Thus, Numb protein expression of VEGF expression has certain clinical guidance for determine the prognosis for the patients with primary hepatocellular carcinoma.
